Pistols turning early

SO this is my first grow and I recently had to move the plants. The next day I noticed that the pistols are turning brown/red way too early on one bud only. Also the leaves surrounding that bud are curling very bad. Why is it doing this?? Should i harvest that tiny bud or just let it go??

I wouldn't worry about it. You can take it or leave it (that bud) . . . looks young, I'd leave it. Carry on!

do you have mylar or aluminum around the ass of the cfl (the balast). if so remove and let air through. now if your using a reflector of some sort with the bulb you might want to make sure that it has air flow. heck just make sure that all the asses of your cfl's have some sort of air flow.

it really does look like heat with the curling leaves. if using aluminum foil or mylar try streching out your grow space so the aluminum isn't as close to the plant.

when i scortched mine i quickly gave it just a little nutes with the SuperThrive Revive (just a few drops). they perked back up in about a week. i moved all my mylar and repositioned my big (105watts) cfl about 4 inches from the top. my big cfl has a reflective dome also, so i positioned a fan twards the top of this dome and my plants love it now.

I am using 2 normal 4 ft shop lights. No aluminum foil no mylar. that bud also is near the bottom of the plant. Not saying you guys are wrong, i just don't see it. Also, if it was heat, why would only one bud do that and not the rest?? Thanks for the replies guys please keep them coming.

I use shoplights too . . . it ain't heat. Tho it does appear a bit crinkly (burned) my guess is it's just a precursor of what this strain's buds look like when grown under less-than-ideal lighting.

Come on.....as growers you should have noticed only the tips of the pistils are brown, which is quite obviously heat. The pistils dont turn brown tips first normally do they, the whole pistil changes colour gradually.:joint:

Heat, but just feed phos when needed and water regularly so that the plant can produce more fresh pistils(hairs). KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

Where is the ballast?

In the housing, beyond the tubes . . . it would take mass negligence to allow the plant to veg thru the bulbs and beyond, so it's not very likely. It's probably 2" from the bottom of the tubes to the housing, maybe a tad less.

I believe too powerful a fan can cause this also by drying the tips of the hairs which then turn brown, mimicing the heat stress look, I seem to remember it happening once.......:joint:

That's logical, Woo.
Obviously the confusion here is related to how this one lower bud may have been damaged. That'd be hard to replicate, Id think?

Thanks for the reply guys. It may of been heat but i still dont get how all of the top buds would be 100% ok but one random bud on the bottom would get heat damage. Since its only one bud I guess i'll just keep doing what im doing and see if anything else pops up. May be try and get more ventilation.
