Pistols on the top?

So I've been flowering nearing 2 weeks now on my three bitches. I do notice that the flowers (pistols) are mainly sticking out on the top half of the plant?

Is this normal? I don't see any pistols on the bottom half at all. Just the top half...

Do the buds on the bottom usually get smaller? And develop a little later? They are in a closet. I keep a towel clogging light from the gap in the bottom of the door. It seems dark enough. Should I cover the whole outer door in a blanket or is this normal?

The plants look healthy, I just don't see pistols on the lower half yet.

Thats normal. This is the reason I grow short plants. The light cant penitrate more than a foot of leaf or so. If you want buds on the bottom you can place some side lighting in the room. Usually I cut off the lower limbs that dont get enough light so the plants energy is used on the top buds instead of being waisted on bullshit buds.

I added two cfls (150 watt normal, forget their break down) two days ago and have them directly hitting the lower branches. I'll give it this week and if I don't see signs of their progress I'll pull them to focus on the top branches.

Thanks man. I'll throw a picture tonight.

I agree with widow... And look forward to the pictures...

Total darkness is key... It is good to be obsessive about this issue.
