Pistils turning brittle and/or amber timeline?

How long does it take for the pistils to turn amber and/or brittle?

My plant is at day 45 of flowering and its expected completion time is 50-65 days, yet not a single white hair has turned amber. Is this expected? I realize its not day 65 and I have some time left, its just that this is my very first time growing and I have no idea what to expect.

Basically, I'm asking because I want to know if this plant is on schedule so I can start flushing - its still receiving full doses of nutes. Do you guys think its about time to start flushing?

Pics of the girl in question are attached. Its a free seed I got from attitude, a G13 white widow feminized. These are all pics of the same plant. Color variations are likely because I was blocking the light.

I guess the better question should have been, how do you guys know when to start flushing? I should put that as the dam title

I use a 30X micro hand scope (Radio shack or a kids store Toys R Us) when the trichomes not the hairs turn milky for indica amber for sativa. Like 20 to 50 percent I start to lessen up on the nutes by day 3 for Coco I use plain water. When my run off is 100ppm more or less than whats goin in I cut her down.

Like this guy was kinda sayin..... get a microscope or at least a 30x loupe, and look at the TRICHES. From there, it's really up to u as far as weather u want the couch lock high or the go-to-work kind of high.... a good guidline to use is to begin flushing 2 weeks from when u expect to harvest so if u wat the couch lock, i wouldn't start flushing till u got 25% amber triches, but that just me... different strokes for differnt folks ya know

OK, unlike the 2 above me, I read wat ya said. Wat % of trichs do ya want amber? Different ppl like different levels, I like them all amber, myself. Ya have to let me know where ya want yours b4 I can tell ya wen to look fer yer flush. Just cause they arent amber YET, means nothing. Wat strain, BTW?

Yes, my friend, and he said he HAS been watching his trich, but they have yet to turn amber. His question was about the trichs, therefore he has obviously already had the info the 2 of ya gave him

Yeah I would forget all that Trich watching nonsense. Whoever thought up that deal was suffering from some type of Reefer Madness situation. Makes their hair stand on end...drink whiskey out of broke bottles...laugh hysterical...makes them think the dope is ready to smoke when it aint etc. Sure wish their was some expurts on here who know for sure.

Forget about triche-watching??? Triches... nonesense???.... Loook man, u can can harvest whenever u want... u figure it out.... u want some pro-help u better do some homework and become the pro urself... do like some of the rest of us has done and figure it out.... all MOST of us around here do is try to help out when we can, no harm meant..... as for expert advise.... u better do some reading, lots of reading. I didn't know the type of high could be altered based on the percentage of amber triches...! I thought it was by strain only, where an indica dominant plant produces a couch hugging high and a sativa produces an uppity high.

I like the couch hugging type highs, so I prefer indicas. This plant however is a free seed I got from attitude with my order, a G13 labs white widow feminized. What % do you think? Forgive my n00bness, this is my very first grow.

I just re-read the thread starters 1st post, and I realize that he THOUGHT he was lookin @ the trichs, but in actuality confused the trichs w/hair.
My apologies to ^^ as well as the other poster that I said didnt read it, wen I am the 1 that misread!!!
So, get a scope, look @ the trichs, not the hairs.

Let it go as close to 100% trichs as possible, but DONT confuse trichomes w/the hairs ya see!
The pic I attached is trichomes. Ya want THESE amber! The green arrows are clear trichs, yellow are cloudy, and red are amber

Some good close-ups there ^^^^ Reminds me of that movie half-baked... u ever seen ur trichomes man?..... u ever seen ur trichomes... ON WEEEED?
