pistils (skunk #1 )

just a quick question guys , im growing skunk #1 from sensi seeds and they are 45 days into flowering the buds are nice and all the pistils are still white the problem ive got tho is im going away for a week on fri and was wondering how long until they will be ready for harvest when the pistils start to turn amber?? my dad will be ok watering them while im gone but dont i trust him doing anything else to them.... thanks in advance jimbo

You should not be that far off since Sensi Seeds says 45- 50 flowering time.

It's weird that at 45 days all the pistils are still white but if they are, you have easily a week before they are ready

I grow the Skunk#1 from Dutch Passion and I go about 60 days

Some of the tutorials or how to's explain that once the pistils turn red the plant is ready. It is not as accurate as waiting for half the trichomes to turn amber but is another way of judging when a plant is finished. Not everyone has a pocket microscope handy

If its not ready the day you leave, a week is going to do nothing but let the plant grow more. A few days, even past peak should not effect potency too much. I would be more worried about your dad over watering. If your getting this close to harvest have you already flushed if needed and gotten it all ready for harvesting when you get back?

cheers for all replies i flushed them 2wk ago as sensi say 45 - 50 days flowering, they are still taking about a litre of water each every 2 days, ive got a ph and moistere meter so the old 1 cant really fuck up and ive asked him to email me pics daily.SKUNK#1 what are the seeds like and results from dutch passion i bought 10 feminised from sensi germanted 5 and 1 was a hermi, ive just germanated another 5 and 1 didnt pop so not to impresssed also i started flowering at about 15 ins as im growing in a dr120 tent how much do u think i will have of each plant.. thanks again jimbo

I have been Growing this strain for about 4 years started of with the DP fem's and ditched them 2 crops in due to the hermie's. Then ordered just the regular Skunk#1 from them and LOVE them! never tried the sensi strain but the DP is a great strain have stuck with it for the whole time
in my sig there is a link to the extra clone I was playing around with and threw into flower when it was about 12 inches tall

Skunk #1 is it a good yeilder? What light? I'm thinking of going with Sensi. But i don't like the sound of hermies or seeds failing to germ.

it does have a good yeild I get 3 1/2 - 4 1/4 per plant, the light I have 2 1000 hps and flower 12 at a time I have 6 of the Skunk#1 and 6 Mazar which is also a very good plant has a larger yeild and is very stoney. Never tried the sensi kind but so I got nothing bad or good about them, but I am very pleased with the DP strain

Nice i might go with the DP, but i'm not doing clones. Have you done a seed run since you got the regulars, if so are the plants uniform from seed? Thanks
