Some of those Afghani roots showing. I just popped some Mazar-i-Sharif a landrace from Northern Afghanistan known for having colored pistils.
The pink pistils look cool while the plant is growing but turn brown just like any others and don't add anything to the final product. Still neat though.
That picture isn't very clear so I can't tell for sure but it looks like the pistils are white but the calyxes have color. You'll see many strains from the Hindu Kush region exhibiting those traits.
