Heat issues should not be a factor bro.... I would place a fan on low blowing on a lower wattage lamp...but to answer ur question The 42 watter burns as hot as 4 42 watt cfls.Magine if u had. Think about the space u could save... XMAS trees are for XMAS time and cfls just dont produce like hps in flower.

Yea Seems like a good deal for just a lamp bro... 1k lamps will require a cool tube and venting..And ur going to need to get a 1k ballast and I would reccomend having ur circiuts upgraded in ur home before plugging one in...
A grower recently had his grow burn down.I believe it was from wrong wiring.
When designing lighting bro heres a few tips....
The only thing u should really be concerned with is the actual area ur plants r going to grow under.
50 watts minimal per sq.ft.. Id reccomend at least 100 tho.. Meaning I grow plants in my 1x2 tubs making my grow area approximately 3 sq.ft....Using this formula i figured i could place 300 watts over this area and get awesome results.One plant consumes 1 sq.ft. roughly. One 70 watt fixture from home depot is completely sufficient enuff with ur cfls hanging over the lower buds and will bring u awesome results.

eh bro honestly im not trying to blow up ur thread but ive been thru the lumens discussion as well...Lumens output/ light source cannot and should not be considered when differenciating from Grow stage to Flower stage..

Yea its all good anyone seeing a grow to harvest using whatever lighting neccesary to fit there grow specs is awesome...Well done peeps. There are great alternatives to supplement cfls lighting in flower tho. Wish i would have learned this a long time ago... U can check them out in the stickies in the newbie section im done talking about it myself...Hope everyone has awesome grows...

Its not easy because I've already had somebody come into my backyard and steal a big beauty that I was flowering. So growing these was pretty worrisome. Thats why I went ahead and cut my losses. I cut them down the day i took those pictures. I should get about an oz. I'd rather have an oz of premature buds.... than NOTHING because some asshole stole all of my plants. If I would've been able to let them finish, I would've ended up with probably 4 or 5 oz. Now I'm waiting for it to dry.

Its some stinky bagseed. Not sure what strain... but it smells like Lemons.
