Pink Floyd - Animals ... genius?

I think the Animals album from Pink Floyd is their artistic, crowning achievement. From the snarling, angry solo by Gilmour in "Dogs" to Wright's eerie intro to "Sheep"...this is a very dark, hopelessly menacing work of musical art. Its their true concept album in my opinion. Whats your opinion? Are ye Dog, Sheep, or Pig?

its good but it does not sound as good as i would like on my system even with the flac
does not sound "bright enough"
so i don't listen to it much anymore

the best bit on the album imo is that little guitar lick and solo half way through "dogs" i think this is my fav bit of gilmour

pigs on the wing is good too

in contrast meddle sounds amazingly bright

Animals, Meddle and Wish You Were Here are the best of the Gilmour-Wright-Mason-Waters era albums. I am particularly fond of Waters bass lick and Gilmour's solo at the end of Pigs (Three of a Kind).

Just found this in a cabinet I haven;t cleaned in a while. Vinyl is absolutely beautiful. I never had listened to this and let it play all the way through. What a terrific album. I don't even view them as individual songs, just one complete one. I guess that's every Pink Floyd album. But when it all came back at the end, that was so warmmmmmmm..and you can't beat wax
