I know that this question has probably either been being waited for, or held back....but....is there really such a strain, or is it just some fictional name made up for a movie? when Superbad came out on dvd, I watched the little clip of the movie they had for this movie (I wasn't a smoker at that point) and if you haven't seen it, the guy lists 4 different strains to describe how potent "Pineapple Express" is. At that time, I didn't think any of them were real, like Northern Lights. I don't remember any of the other ones, but I always questioned if they existed or not...well now I know that some strains like Northern Lights do in fact exist. I also know that some strains have some pretty crazy names (I've seen one named Donkey Dick...obviously not the weed of choice by many lol). so anyway, all this sparked the question. Does anyone know if Pineapple Express is actually a real strain out there? I mean, it could, but if there really isn't, any asshole dealer could sell any type of weed and call it Pineapple Express to noob smokers since the movie is around, and they could be making looots of money off these people because it's being so "displayed" I guess you could say (I know there's a better word, I just can't think of it).

but other than that, who's actually planning on seeing this movie? any Rogen/Franco/Appatow fans here?

dude yeah, Pineapple is a killer strain mm.
I think Pineapple express is probably made-up, but definitely based off pineapple.
I believe in the movie this 'Pineapple express' strain is a new strain so rare and great that the bad guys can identify the dudes just by finding that pineapple express left behind..

Pineapple Express is a real strain. ITs is very rare thought. West coast and HI has it. It forms when a jetstream from HI and Canada picks up dirt and mixes it with pot in a speacial way it just produces this powerful strain. hOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

ive had some stuff from a local grower that was called pineapple concasador (spelt the way it sounded lol) i really liked it because of both the fruity taste and smell of pineapples i waslucky enough to get a single seed which has just recently exploded in size and looks to be indica its still small butpics in a bit i need to post more

mmmm.... dirt mixed in with flowering plants, sounds like that tastes great- I'm guessing its fictional. Good movie though..... many ads for advanced nutrients.

I live on the Big Island of Hawaii, and I can assure you, yes, Pineapple Express is a real strain. I live on the western side of the island, in Kona, but from what I've heard, it's grown more on the eastern and northeastern sides of the island, closer to Hilo. It is a very sweet, very potent, and very high-yield plant that, as many of you have already noted, gets its high quality and pure perfection from Hawaiian and Canadian jetstreams picking up different types of soil and mixing it with the plant. Since the true Pineapple Express requires such specific and precise growing conditions, it is considered one of the rarest if not the rarest type of weed in the world, and is thusly treated as a delicacy. This is not something you would just roll on any day during your lunch break. This stuff is the SHIT. The closest thing next to Pineapple Express is Kona Gold, grown on the western side of the Big Island (in Kona, obviously). It's not as perfect, but it's still awesome. 3.5 to 4.5 ounces per plant and potent as all hell. If you can't get your hands on Pineapple Express, Kona Gold will do the job, and you'll be happy. Coming in at a close third is Maui Wowie. I don't know too much about the scientifics of it, but knowing that the state of Hawaii is the closest to the equator of all 50 states and one of the most humid, this stuff will be at least a little better than your average pot. But if you're at least a novice stoner, you've probably heard plenty about Maui Wowie already, so I don't need to get into details anyway. If not, Google it, you'll find stuff about it in many places. Anyways, there you have it: Hawaii's top three pot plants! Hope this helped!!!

there is no jet stream dirt. people are living in a fantasy. maybe the specific soil on the island, volcanic rock and stuff. import the dirt to grow locally. hydroponics should grow the plants just fine too. growing away from that side of the island might not be the best, but it would work for sure. it is still just a plant.

1) it looks like the owners of the scam seed cite that sells "pinapple express" is creating various profile and posting BS about the legitimacy of the bud. 2) it takes years for a strain to be fully developed and be named something

Is that a coincidence, or could you always buy it somewhere online?

about a year before this movie came out i came across pineapple dro in AZ. Top ten best i ever smoked. Reall fruity sweet flavor, intense enjoyable laughing high. Cerebal . We smoked 3 i was high till i got to kansas.
