as far as i know it was made up there are people tryingto cash in on the name and there are pineapple strains out there

here is a pineapple
its called pineapple punch :)

A specially selected Real McCoy crossed back to a Skunk#1 daddy, to offer the chance for wider genetic diversity for those who love the Hawaiian. A little more chunky and Skunky than the Real McCoy, with a distinctive pineapple taste and smell. Very cerebral in effect. A great strain to cross with the Real McCoy and/or other extreme Sativa types.
Developed: USA / Holland
Sativa/Indica: Mostly Sativa
Smell/Taste: Truly superior, sweet taste
High/Strength: Tropical salad bar
Expected Yield per m2: High
Appearance: Sativa type with thick heavy buds
Sowing Time: May / June
Outdoor Harvest: End of October (Holland)
Flowering Period: 9 – 10 weeks (12 hrs indoor)

oh its from pick and mix seed bank 2 by the way

i just started 5 pineapple punch seeds from the flying dutchmen. the plants (all exept 1) have deformed leaves and yellowing after the cotyleden. however new growth appears to be healthy on the plants. they are all in the 2nd week of the vegatative life cycle and i would like to know if anyone has had simaler problems with the strain. shud i just pull all my pineapples? that hardly seems right.

You are over watering them. Back off on the water and no nutes. Get some super plant tonic by BMO (ebay), it can bring anything back from the dead and keep it healthly. Much better than superthrive.

i used to use superthrive in my garden but i quit because all it did was hinder thier proformance. i call it the crack because it is so potent.
im not sure that nutes are the problem because im not using any other than general hydroponics flora nectar which has an npk of 0 0 1. could that be it?
im also using a half and half mix of fox farms ocean fresh soil(bat guano, fish emulsions etc>) and fox farms light warrior for drainage, so i dnt believe this is the problem either but if you have encounterd this problem before i will trust your imput

if i had had the money at the time of planting thats the exact medium i would have wanted to use. Fox Farm_ 1/2 Ocean Soil, 1/2 Light Warrior (and some perlite).

In the second week of veg, the nutes you are using sound too weak to be doing damage. Usually yellowing on old growth sounds like a nitrogen deficiancy but i would have thought that the nutes from the Ocean Soil would prevent that. Maybe since you are only using half serving (thus half strength) Ocean Soil it is time to try and feed them a 1/4 strength nutrient of something like 20-10-10 or 20-20-20 or half strength 10-10-10 or 10-5-5. Good luck

Pineapple Express is put out by the Kush Brothers on the West Coast. They do not offer seeds anymore as the plants are clone only now. I haven't grown it or smoked it so can't give you more than that.

I have a pineapple plant about 3 weeks from harvest. I never had problems in the veg period it was always happy. but i noticed the top leaves are getting really yellow.. low on nitrogen i think.

but ya i got the seed for free from a friend, i wasn't too excited about it but now shes looking awesome i'll try to post some pics.

dont give up on them yet

Flo from what Ive heard there is no weed called pineapple express, the weed they called Pineapple Express in the movie was supposedly inspired by the pineapple pheno of C-99. Somebody should ask the producer about that... But if ya think about it Cinderella 99 was fairly new on the scene and had gotten extremely popular around the time that the movie was being made so it would make sense.
Ive noticed that since the release of the movie everybody and their mom are tryin ta say they have pineapple express, you know marketing tactics.... So Id say compare the growth characteristics with C-99. If it dont look similar but it still does taste like pineapple I dont see any reason why the name couldnt stick.
