Hey guys! How are we this fine Sunday?

I may be getting a puppy. Initially just to look after and see how it goes. He's 8 mths so if so I want him soon to train him. He's 'one of those' breeds however my friends other dog is very well behaved. Ive had a trained German Shepherd so I have experience. I've seen my cat on the streets for mths before he came home and he seems ok near dogs.



It's an Argentinian Dogo. Why do you think? Do you know this breed?

Exceptional breed if it is from genuine hunting stock. Like a pit bull cept better at getting along with others, be discriminating about your breeder as the breed has been getting watered down very poorly as of late.

Deafness and man aggression topping the list, but well bred Dogos have lots of hybred vigor compared to lots of white breeds. Still gene pool is very small and eventually the genes will cul de sac back to issues.

What's with the white dogs? I know KK's mums dogs (white bull terrier) has had skin complaints or allergies. I'm not sure where he bought the dog from?! I just want a nice pet that I can train and guard the house.

the issue, and a lot of other issues with various "pure" breeds, is that they are inbred.

yep, that's why most of the popular breeds have so many health issues.

not being critical of any breed in particular, btw theres the same issue with cannabis strains, the better breeders will back cross with the origional breeds (strains) periodically to bring in fresh dna. But theres alot of breeders (animals and plants) that just get a male and a female and breed them. then breed their offspring to each other, lather rinse repeat. sooner or later that causes problems. not sure that albinism itself causes any problems (besides being more sensitive to light), but it is a fairly recessive trait in dogs (i would think. I mean you don't see a lot of albino wolves.) so I would think it would be a sign of a pretty inbred dog which is probably going to have a lot of other really recessive traits- deafness, hip problems, retardation...

they are really beautiful dogs imo.

I have always had pits and pit mixes, I love them. No personal experience with dogo's tho. I think its a similar breed in its needs tho. For owners that are strong, assertive, and decisive that have lots of love patience and time to spend on their pups, I think they are great, pits and shepherds too. For ppl that are kinda wishy washy or just don't have the time or energy, it's not such a good thing imo.

<--jazzy will be 13 in a couple months. I got her at the pound @ 11 months old. she had been returned to the pound by 3 different familys.

Shop for the breeder, not the dog.

The dog is already there and it's 8 mths. My breed really is the German Shepherd. I'll Whatsapp him to see if I can get a picture. I've seen pics already. However if the cat can't deal with it in new premises/territory then it's not staying. My cat comes first.
