Hi, it didn't mean it was formulated specifically for tomatoes but rather the label says that it would help vegetables fruit big and had a picture of a tomato plant. It is a totally organic soil mix, apparently but I forget the brand name (I'm in New Zealand so you wouldn't have heard of it probably except it is cheap and generic and most likely the equivalent of Miracle Grow in the US). I sprouted them in "seed raising soil" that had no nutes and transplanted a week or so ago. I was just kidding or something earlier, money isn't the biggest issue, I just can't see my plants surviving if I shake all the dirt off their roots and transplant. My watering method involves 2/3rds of a cup of water each plant each day. I know people usually warn against daily watering but my soil seems to dry out so fast (every morning I stick my finger in and it feels dryISH to the touch an inch or so down. You think I should lay off the water a bit? I keep thinking I'm going to but every day the soil feels dryer than it should (I think). Basically, I am not going to transplant because the plants don't look near death att all and I plan to do another grow straight after this taking into consideration where I failed this time. I'm not still hopeful for recovery - will update at some point. Cheers.
