just transplanted to cups sitting under 390w for now. its a adjustable ballast. how long should i wait for 600w and what about light distance i have no heat issue i can touch the glass and plants are staying around 75 deg. ......please comment

looks great, apart from the crinkled aluminum paper.

id rather use something flat white.

i wouldnt put them under ur 600W until they r at least a full 3 weeks old, make sure they r at least 8 inches away with MH & 5 inches with HPS.

i dont even understand your setup. Your vegging with hps, so your either completing harvest in that exact setup which makes no sense, or your using that for cloning which also makes no sense. what are you going to do, veg them until they are 7inches tall then flip them?

if what im seeing is correct, your gonna put a 600w hps bulb into a 3by3 space? with that small of distance inbetween the bulb and plants with no cooltube?

if i were growing in that box i would only do one or two plants and scrog them. if you don't want those things to grow through your light you better flip em now. why so many plants? those cups are not nearly large enough, they are going to be root bound in a week.

i think you should take advantage of your Watts and get a bigger setup so you can actually utalize that power into buds. i mean, its not like your going hydro or aero so if its possible i would try to situate something bigger. With a 600w light i would be utalizing more space than that, and fuck that foil garbage, spend 20 bucks on some mylar. u can get it on ebay , and thats 20 bucks free shipping. You can also use the backs of wrapping paper, but i would just spend the measly 20 bucks and get mylar, People brag about how good white is, blah, nothing reflects more than mylar.

I am stubborn on my own shit, thats why i enjoy doing it myself. I dont put my clones in a small cup unless i have to . I transplant them straight from the cloner (aero) and into the big pot they will be in throughout harvest.

The area is not equal to watts. im suprised his babys arent dying of heat unless he has that ac on the whole time of light time.

even with a cooltube 600w alot of heat comes off of it. So i couldnt imagine 600w no cooltube. especially in a 3x3. and the babys are, what 1.5 to 2foot from the bulb?

a area that big he wouldnt see much diffference going down to 400w or even 250. i Bet i could turnout the same yeild maybe a little less with a 250w in that area. what you need for big buds is more room for bigger root growth.

But the advantage to smaller place like that is you can bounce that light everywhere. Straight mylar the whole inside and watch that 250w hps roar

From what I see the foil is fine for now .. address the big problems first.. how are you going to move the light during growth? How long do you plan to veg? You need to have a light that can be lifted lowered based on the plants needs.. I would do that first.. then tweak the small stuff. If your strictly limited to that tiny space and cant move the light at all.. I would go with cfl's that way you dont need the ac and will have more available height because the plants can almost touch the cfl's before burning

sorry about not replying i forgot about checking this thread
they are 10 to 13 inches away and never get hotter then 82-83 degrees, a/c runs 24/7. i haven't got any I.R. ANTI-DETECTION and took down the foil i have to many lumen's to worry about wasted light electric isn't something i even think about.
iam going to buy a grow track, but i haven't finished my grow room, well i did but the a/c couldn't keep it cool enough so iam moving the grow room inside
iam deciding what shape pot to transfer them to

This grow is eneconomical, you will never yeild enough to pay the electricity bills for a 400/600w and air con on 24/7. Flourescent tubes are ideal for this situation.

if he was going for the SOG technique hed be fine. says heat isnt even an issue so why is everyone freakin? if heat isnt his issue why is it an issue to everyone else? give the man some advice he needs. like SWITCH TO 12/12 NOW!!!!!

I did give advice, sell the 400w and buy t5's, no way that is a viable situation and you are crazy putting a 600w in there, the fire risks alone are enough to make me say no.

So 30 dollars a month increase in electric .
I was going to go S.O.G. but I changed my mind, I like the cups because I can check the roots. I've been taking note of their growth pattern and plastic pots don't seem to achieve what I had in mind.
I'm thinking of using litter boxes, or a custom cylindrical container.
i can't find much info on how the roots grow, from what I get if you don't water them enough the main tap root can deepen up to 6 feet or so, and if you water enough it might just grow a few inches.
I just take forever to make up my mind.
