Picking Off Individual early Calyx to smoke

before everyone starts saying noo its a waist and its better to wait blah blah. stop, i know
So.. is it possible to pick off a few individual calyxes for a bit of a test ? without harming the overall yeild too much, and if so, where would be the best place to pick them off ?

I guess if you plan to lollypop or otherwise thin out the lower budsites, then you may as well smoke them rather than waste it. I wouldn't expect it to be a true represntation of strength, flavour or quality though.

until the tricomes have time to mature you will have no real way to know the strength or quality. sure you can smoke it but i just buy a sack to tie you over and let the plant do its thing.

if by test you mean to look at your trichromes, then you can take a sugar leaf, it should be a pretty representative sample, but take a few from the top and the base to really see what's going on.....if by test you do mean smoke, then you still have to wait for the THC to be ready before it will give you the effect you desire...just like paranoid said.

If you do take, then take strategically from an area that will free up light for those struggling down below? This from a guy who just crumpled up a zig zag to soak with hash and throw in the bong because harvest isn't for a few days and then everything still needs to cure....
