Hi all - first time poster... please be gentle ;)

I haven't done a grow for years, but since the lockdown kicked in I decided now's a good time to get back into gardening, so I ordered some seeds off pickandmixseeds.com I got an email confirming my purchase but since then... nothing. I thought it was a bit suspicious as when i used them years ago they were generally pretty quick and sent a dispatch notice when they'd posted them. After looking around online I saw a post saying they'd been shut down in 2017? Also, the company address is based in Belfast instead of Sheffield now, and the contact number is just a mobile number that goes straight to answerphone, and the web address is now .com instead of .co.uk like it was years ago .
I sent an email and lefft a phone message asking about my order but so far no reply...

If anyone else has bought seeds from pick n mix recently, or had issues with them please let me know.

I'm not sure if they're back in business and just being a bit slack or if i've been ripped off...

I’ve checked the website out, pretty honest looking and doesn’t seem or appear to be a scam website.

however, and I mean this in no disrespect to you, we’re both fellow Brits, and you know the state of things at the moment here.. things aren’t easy for a lot of people or businesses. It would not surprise me if they were running on a skeleton crew, which could cause huge delays in your orders.

the hydroponics website I use, they advise 10-14 days delivery time due to Corona. The seed bank I use, also advise similar waiting delivery times due to Corona.

its also 4 day bank holiday weekend, so wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve shut altogether over this period.

I know it’s hard, wondering if you’ve been ripped off or not, but I would allow a bit of time and understanding during this difficult time. Not all businesses are coping as well as other.

Thanks, I'll see what happens. It just raised a few red flags when i read that they'd been shut down in 2017. Also, the registered adress is just a street in belfast (no number) and the registered london adress seems to be some random convenience store. I just would have expected some announcement on their website about it, or at least a reply to my email... I did forget it's a bak holiday weekend though! I'll wait and see i guess.

I just received an email from the guys at Seed City, where i originally saw the post about Pick'n'mix seeds. I'd emailed them asking about the new site and this was their reply:

Hello,
I think the pick and mix shop that has sprung up, is different from the older one. We have some friends that used to work for pick and mix, and as far as they are aware, this isn't the same people. I personally couldn't say for certain that it's different people, but it doesn't look like it to me. That said, I do not know if they are scammers etc. I've not heard anything from anyone else, that would suggest that they are scammers.

In terms of the article, we knew that they closed indefinitely in 2017. I think, this was partly due to a huge operation carried out by the tax authorities, that affected a lot of the seed sellers in the UK (Seed City included). At the time, we were able to continue, but they decided to close down, so we created that article in a bid to get some of their older customers; who we knew would be looking for a new outlet to buy single seeds.

Sorry we cannot be more helpful. I hope your seeds come soon.

Please get in touch if you have any further questions.

So it's different management by the looks of it but not necessarily a scam. Hopefully they're just busy and my seeds will arrive soon. I ordered some others from Grizzly a few days back and they just messaged me saying they're on the way so at least i'll have something to occupy me if the other ones don't come!

UPDATE: I just got a call from one of the guys there, he was really apologetic about not getting back to me sooner and explained they were having difficulties getting deliveries from their suppliers, but that the next shipment was arriving tomorrow and that he'd be sending me some freebies to say sorry plus a discount code for my next order, which was nice of them. I feel a bit bad now about talking shit about them :/

Hi - sorry for not updating sooner - yes i got my seeds in the end, they were just having delays receiving stuff from their suppliers because of lockdown. I just got a bit concerned when I didn't hear anything back from them but they got back to me after a bit, and sent some extra freebies to say sorry. So all good I the end!

Must be nice i just got ripped for $350 from them , ordered in November 2020 still no seeds at the end of March 2021 . I got a shipping notice in December with no tracking number , with covid going on I waited until recently to contact them , Chloe tells me they had shipped 5 seeds and if I wanted the rest of my order around 30 seeds I had to pay 188 pounds , I told her I had already payed them the full amount last year by visa,so I ask for my money back, at this point they no longer answer the phone or reply to my emails , so now I have no seeds and they won't respond . thats fantastic, what a pack of assholes , I would not buy anything from them , I'm from Canada and likely won't be able to get my money back ,but plan on reporting them for internet fraud to the authorities in the UK

Contact your card company. Tell them you didn't get what you paid for.

The UK fraud department won't take any notice as it's a private matter and no actual fraud was committed. You would also have to prove that they intended to fraud.

I received 2 freebies from pick and mix last year without putting in any order.

White widow and Bubba kush.

After 3 weeks I received an order. No original packaging no details and the seeds were just in a bag with a label stating CBD seed , in a vial. U. Good money paid for what could be any old bag seed. I likely wont even pop as i dont want to waste time , nutes and space on a possible dud . Avoid at all costs because you simply don't know what you're getting. Contrast this with Mephisto - I ordered 4 seeds and received 12 ! £3.33 per seed for arguably the very best seeds anywhere in the autoflower market plus they arrived 2 days after the order was placed. Lesson learned.

I just received my order 24hrs after I ordered. Couple of nice freebies.

Pretty much how I remember service being years ago before they shut down. Infact theses guys were the first people I ever ordered seeds from.

Only things that have changed is they now send the seeds in a tube. Before it was just a plastic baggy with a portion of the original packaging if you brought single seeds.
Also before you got 1 free fem and 2 free regular seeds with each order but this time I got a fem seed and 1 automatic which is better because I never used the regulars years ago.
