Phophet 2nd grow

-I am starting this grow journal late. i am a month into reception of clones.
-I started with 6 clones. 3 Sweet Cindys, 2 Blue Satellite, 1 Blue moon rock.
So far only 2 Sweet Cindys, and 2 Blue satellites remain. I have them potted in a perlite vermiculite and peat soiless mix. I have added the correct amound of lime to stabilize the soil but on this day (well call it day 30) i am fed up with some of the problems ive been having.
-It seems that i have figured out how to minimize the problem, but i cant seem to eliminate it altogether.

-the main thing is the purpling of the stems up to the petiole. Earlier in the grow cycle (before i realized i needed to add lime to my mix) i had severe ph problems wich have been resolved. By "resolved" i mean that the problem is only no longer severe. but is does exist and it seems to go through cycles of intesity though they are overall not as bad as they once were.

-I am starting you off with a set of all pics i have taken. I will continue to post pics every other day or so. and i will keep a semi-detailed log of feeding and ph readings.

From here on out all post/pics will be of up-to-date events. Please POST any questions and as we get into this i hope some of you will be able to help with this grow.

-Let me tell you a little about my box. It is a closetmaid cabinet with three 26 watt daylight cfls in it. It is only a mother box and not intended for intese veg or flowering. But in any case i will be installing one more 26 watter soon. It is ventillated by a 120mm cpu fan. i have set up a carbon filtration system but it is not in use seeing as there is no odor yet. I will have to add another fan when i introduce the filter if ever.

So if you have seen any of my pics then youll notice that there is a purpling in the stem and on older leaves. new growth is always green, then turns purple to some degree after time.
-I am trying to figure out why the purpling is happening. i thought it was a ph problem but my ph is between 6-7. it could be slightly too high tho. any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So my clones have been slow to take root. There are a few which i suspect could have somewhat of a start but i dont want to disturb it to check.

This is my second grow, and the first time i have ever attempted to cut clones. I did alot of reading prior to cutting them and i thought that i had taken care of everything. I am using a color match ph kit and i think my old friend mr ph has come back to haunt me. I better do somthing quick.

I have decided to take 6 new cuttings and ph the water properly and add proper ph'd water to the 20 or so already cut.
Hopefully this will fix the problem and i will see some results soon. I couldnt imagine what else i didnt do right.

I used the following
-shults take root powder
-superthrive
-quarter strength bloom
-diagnal cut, scarring
-half of leaf removed
-humidity dome
-rockwool
-26 watt daylight cft

If you can think of anything that might be wrong let me know. keep in mind my ph could have been 6.0-6.5. But it is now after the fix probably around 5.0-6.0.

Do i need to be exactly on 5.5? Is there any way i can for sure find my ph without using a fancy ph meter? I know i will have to get one eventually, but i cant afford one now.

No new updates. Waiting on clones to root and HID lamps and accesorries to arrive. Below are my two 1000 watt switchable lamps from HTG, timers, two six inch centrifugal fans, a temperature and humidity controller, and my co2 generator (propane). Right now im waiting on a care package from me hombre. As soon as it arrives i will let you in on my grow room setup and the like.

Two clones have rooted! The clones to the right are rooting (they have bumps of some sort). The two in the middle have rooted. They have bona fide shoots and roots coming off of them.

the ones on the left have had no luck yet. Six of them are about a week younger than the others. I have hope for those six. The majority of the others might not make it. but we shall see.

I guess theres a first time for everything. I was so worried that my girlies werent going to root. I know now that patience is a virtue.

Also included is another pic of my mothers. I have decided to flower them and use my clones to raise three new very special mothers.

Special thanks to Skitzotic for helping me keep my head.

I hope your clones pull through, what i usually do with my clones is once i take the cutting i let them sit in seaweed water (maxicrop seaweed) until ready to put into my medium and than i let the rockwool / Jiffy soil thing soak in that seaweed water as well instead of just regular water (i adjust p.h to 5.5). After all that i just let them sit under 1 flo for 24hrs and i see roots real fast (couple of days). For the floro i am not sure if it matters but i just started using that "plant floro" type from wal mart and since i have been using that and my seaweed process i have 100% results.

First of all, thank you for your post, i have been dissapointed that more peeps havnt been helping me with advice and questions and so on.

Ill have fresh pics for you to look at hopefully by the end of the day. Im setting up one of my grow rooms today. It will be a closet with a 1000 watt mh/hps switchabel lamp in it. The light will be air cooled.

As for the clones. I think i cut about 26 clones total, and so far i have roots on 8 of them. Im pretty sure that i will see roots on about 5-6 more any day now.

Thanks for letting me know what you use. Im tying to get to the point where i can clone and have results in 6-10 days like the rest of yall.

Ok, so long time no post.

Well here we go. My lights and accessories came in recently. I have gotten a good idea about my setup. I will be using two closets, with a 1000 watt in each one. The closet pictured is not finished yet, i am still waiting on some black and white poly, and some containers so i can finish rigging my intake/exhust and to repot my girlies in some 3 gallon bags.

9 of the 20+ clones i cut have already rooted and i have them in the box that my other girlies used to be in. This is only until my MH bulb arives with the package of poly and grow bags. I will post more pics later when i have come closer to having finished closet.

I have a question for you guys. Is it too late to LST these four girls? The stalks are bendable still, i feel like i could gradually bend the stalks to tie them off. Does this sound like a good idea?

Whew, finally done! Four girlies in there. I got 10 more babies that i will be repotting in 1 gal bags and putting in there to fill out the space. Im trying to get maximum bud.

So we've got an air cooled light that is vented using a 80 cfm fan,(thats the two ducts you see), they are exhausted stealthily out a window. Then youve got a peep of the interior and the space i have to work with.

I spent $135 at home depot building this. List includes

-velcro $3
-zippers $14
-50 ft. of ducting (two 25 foot boxes at home depot $30
-two 80 cfm 4" duct fans $50 total
-two 6" to 4" reducers $10
-6 mil black construction sheeting (wal-mart for this, home depot only has 6 mill in a $50 roll, i got 25x10 for $17 at wall mart.
-duct tape, wiring for fans, ext. cord, $10

Planning on getting a cheap 1mil roll of mylar for reflection. Im doing it this way cuz mylar is more reflective, and its way way cheaper.

If you have any questions about the setup, or how i did this, just ask. If you have any ideas on how i can make it better let me know.

Once again, WHEW, finally done!

I just found out that my blue satellite is supposed to have purple stems early in life. That dosnt explain why my c99 has purple stems. But the c99 does have very very light coloring. Oh well.

So i did an LST today, and i have just finished my second day of 12/12 for my girlies. Im gonna wait until the ladies get about two or three more days before i post again i hope there will be some pics worth posting. I had my ladies under 36 hours dark before i started 12/12 and they have already started showing strong signs of flowering. Hairs showing their sex started getting really long. There is some info on the web that says that my c99 will start to show flowers within a week, so we shall see.
