PHOGS Phase III

Looks like Thanksgiving is coming early, I am going harvest in two days, that is just 7 weeks. [/FONT]

[FONT=arial, sans-serif]Take a look at the pics. All pistils have changed color, calyx are fat and full, trichomes mostly milky and about 10 to 15 percent amber.

I'll have to review my notes and try to duplicate and exceed what should be a record yield for this PHOGS setup.

Remember a 2x3 space, less then 200 watts of LED\CFL, with Passive Hydro. Only significant change was in soil for flowering as my veg container remained unchanged.

I ditched subcool's supersoil and my own take on it from last PHOGS grow and replaced with a soil from a local nursery that is a commercial brand which is proven in flowering beds.
This soil had the most variety of soil amendments and [/FONT]mycorrhizas and beneficial bacteria that [FONT=arial, sans-serif]I have ever seen listed on a label. PERIOD!

Remember as you look at these 4 mainlined ladies they average 2 feet tall, utilizing only the top 1/3 about 8 inches for flowering. There are about 24/25 of possible 32 branches that are symmetrical of at least 6 to 7 nodes with flowers growing. I am expecting similar yields from each branch the remaining 7 smaller branches vary but there do have good size tops from LED penetration to lower part of canopy. So I should go over 3 oz of flowers easily this time around. If I can yield an ounce each from a 2 foot plant with low lighting and little maintenance required consistently I don't know of any HID \ Chem grow personally with this little space light and low cost organic soil grow can compete.

I honestly think you could wait at least another week and they'd fatten up even more. Never seen a photo plant fully mature that quickly. But I could easily be wrong. Looks good and healthy.

I hear ya, just don't want too much amber and get couch lock, love the more alert but mellow aspect. I can think very creatively on this strain.

I am given them another two days, I have harvested before at 7, 7.5 and 8. I like 7 to 7.5 weeks on this strain in this set up. But I may take half as I typically do then take another as I watch the amber fill in but no more then 20% PERIOD!

going to take in batches and ensure I better date them as well as take really good close ups of flower.
I will probably take about 6 decent branches and a couple smaller ones at the 7 week mark. Then take another round of 6 and 2 at about 7.5 and finish the rest around 8 that is if the amber doesn't explode and I see some more girth being put on. If I can I may be able to push one or two stems on a plant or two past 8 weeks to see how close to couch lock they are. I should be able to maintain room for there replacements in doing this for they are smaller and take less room when the first go in. So we shall see.

They smell wonderful and sticky sweet.

As soon as I see amber, even only one or two trichs, I harvest. I haven't been disappointed yet

• Single LED rated at 240 watts drawing 140 using full spectrum 8 band Grow light, but I did add two flowering spot light leds at 12 watts each, that is 164 watts plus a couple of cfl for ambient light 2300k. So no more then a possible of 200 watts total on these four gals in a 2x3 4 inch fan and carbon filtered.

Are you sold on the results of the LEDs compared to HPS?

When it comes to a closet grows yes, my yield here should confirm again for the energy use less to 200watt all those nice flowers where made.

I will be finding up when my 450's come in how well they compete with yield of a 400 HPS. The 450's draw 300 watt for the LED. They use just bloom leds all red with so then I will probably add supplemental lighting with some sort of combo of T5 Vertical CLFS with perhaps a couple of 15 watt spot LEDs for more white light.

I am sold on LEDs wish I had more $$$ to try others. I would try others but so much $$ at risk.
So considered what I have in this closet a 240 watt Full Spectrum Grow Led which draws 140 watts, supplemented with some spot bloom leds 15 watts x2 and 24 watt CFL x2. so less then 200watt draw not to shabby at all IMHO.

I am sold on this...
