Pheno hunting

Hello there, I had a few questions about pheno hunting I was hoping to get answered!

Question one: Can I pheno hunt with regular seeds(non Feminized)?
Two: How many seeds should I start with?
Three: Is it to my preference to pick the winning pheno or is there certain things I'm supposed to look for?
Four: Do I Reveg or cut clones to keep the winning pheno(s) alive and going?

Sorry for so many questions I just wanna know before I put effort & I start popping beans.

Would I cut clones of my pick plants then separate them until I know of their male or female? Is there anyway to tell before I flip to flowering to make more room?

Take a clone from each of the plants that you like while they are vegging. As soon as they get roots put them into 12/12, you should see sex in 1-2 weeks. Now as long as you keep everything labeled you will know the sex of your plants in veg.

Is ten seeds considered a pheno hunt or should I pop all the beans of this strain at once?

There is no official number - any number of seeds you want to try out is a pheno hunt if you decide to call it a pheno hunt. Personally, I'd use as many as you have space to grow to maturity. You can't judge yield or potency until they've finished. Might as well try them all.

Speaking for myself, I sprouted 50 of them a month and a half ago and now have about 36 females almost 2 weeks into flower. I won't know which one I'm keeping for a mother until they're all finished off. If I'd bought 100 seeds, I'd probably have popped all 100. Maybe in 2 separate grows, but still - what else you gonna do with 'em? If you've got em, grow 'em out and see what they turn into. If you have 20 seeds and only plant 19, you'll never know if that one you didn't plant would have been the one that only grew 3 feet tall and topped off with a main bud the size of a 2-liter pop bottle that was stickier than Super Glue.
