Pheno Hunting

What's up friends,

I've been accumulating seeds for a couple years now from some of my favorite breeders and I can't help but think that there has to be a couple keepers in them beans. Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed with this I have about 200 seeds I want to hunt through and want to narrow it down to about 3-5 keepers. I'm going to cull aggressively and only keep what I consider the best of best. I have a 2x4 closet, 2x4 tent, and 8x4 tent.

Breeders: Archive Seedbank, Lucky Dog Seed Co, Bodhi/Doc D, CSI Humboldt, Crane City, and Tsunami Seeds. In addition, I want to hunt through about 40 bag seeds that my brother and I collected when we lived in LA. They look better than some of the shit I pay for. These are a mixture of regs and fems.

Unfortunately, this is going to be a pain staking process. You'll need to label/number each seed and grow them out till almost the flip, then take clones from each one (get a few in case they don't take) and root them out. Put the clones in veg, and see how thier mothers finish. It's really the only way to do it.

Do it next summer just to narrow down m/f
In such a small space I have no idea how you can grow that many plants to maturity let alone select the best phenos

You should hunt in small batches. Flower out what you want based on what you like in veg. Take chances. Finish a product and smoke it. See what you find. I have a friend and we both buy packs, hunt, clone, flower out and decide what we like. Makes it easier to hunt with more than on person growing like minded. We smoke on each others flower. Decide what we like and don't. We've been doing this for a few years now. We both got a collective of strains we keep cloning and perpetual.

I sprout a pk label each plant and take a clone when they're 4-5 wks in flower.

Clones taken late enough in flower can take months to re veg giving me plenty time to grow and test the mother before investing my time in them, the maintenance/expense/space monster clones save is phenomenal.

When the mothers are maturing i prepare more seeds and repeat sifting off the best plants as i grow.
I've also a load of seeds to hunt through yet so i'm going to try straight to 12-12 then re veg/clone any keepers.

I'm going to keep saving beans until I move and can have multiple flower rooms and space to house clones long enough to get to the smoke test. I'm kind of weary of revegging. I would hate to lose a mother that happens to be the one after putting in all that work.

Question: Can I flower males in the same tent?? Like if I pop 2 packs of Animal Tsunami and get 7 males while simultaneously popping 2 packs Black Triangle and getting 6 males, can they flower together or will their pollen get all mixed up and not be viable?? I ask because I usually try and buy 2-3 packs of the same strain and a buddy told me to find a stud and take them to F2 then I can hunt through a couple hundred seeds of whatever said strain.
