An illegal plan to extract concentrated cannabis from marijuana plants literally blew up the faces of three men who had to be hospitalized for treatment of burns on Thursday, Sept. 26.

A large chemical extraction lab had been set up inside a steel storage container at a residence in the 14100 block of Buttonwood Street in Phelan, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department wrote in a news release.

...The suspects suffered first- and second-degree burns over most of their bodies.

Two were taken by helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

At about the same time as the explosion was reported, firefighters received a report of a third burned person at a medical clinic in Phelan, the Victorville Daily Press reported. That person also was airlifted to Arrowhead.

These guys were idiots hahaha. i hate when stuff like this happens but really.... they were asking for it.

First off dont use pvc. Second off if youre running that much shit buy some medical grade butane and run a recovery system so you dont need over 1000 cans of butane. You may not need the recovery system but at least get the good butane for alot cheaper.

They were probably evaporating on a gas stove considering the half assed way the rest of there shit was set up.

haha and if youve got 40lb of trim/bud and several oz of wax you should be able to afford a good extraction system.

and at the very minimum you should have a good vent system to get rid of all the butane.

scrubs... all of em.

I agree... sounds like a bunch of idiots looking for some quick bucks. Can you imagine how dirty their shit would have been? And with that much you know they were going to be moving it to local dispensaries. Blowing themselves up might have saved dozens of people from buying bad BHO.

agreed. they probably didnt even have a vac chamber let alone a vac oven which they should have been able to afford.

I would kill for 40 lbs and the money to buy the right set up to run it all.

But i wouldnt kill myself doin it haha.

enough common sense to move air filled with butane out of your work area away from any flames or ignition sources. Also dont have any flames or ignition sources within the adequate distance of your batch.

If you can do that youre golden. And so will your hash.

Its been all over the local news. Phelan is a desolate area and a haven for other things. It was so loud you could hear it from Victorville. Everyone assumed it was a meth lab. and then it came out that it was a ghetto BHO lab. People are desperate for extraction and believe it or not its a market for the cheap stuff. Ill never use that shit...but i hear about it allot.

Thats crazy. At first it sounded like an old school ergot extraction using big pvc tubes and naptha.

We had a house blow up in our area a year or 2 ago. i was out of town at the time but people cities away said they heard it.

An whats bad is the propaganda machine will twist this into makin it seem like this is how all wax is made. Basically makin us garage tweekers N sadly these guys werent far off.

Really its not a whole lot more dangerous than putting gas in your car if your not a moron. You dont even have to have an expensive extractor if your not mentally challenged.
You just dont blow 5 tubes at a time...lol

Yep. It's amazing how simple it is. Just don't make it outside and don't make it near electricity, sparks, or fire.

But even then, I'm just as worried about people putting out "mirror shatter" or using pvc pipes as I am fires.
