PH

Would it be possible to use the PH stuff from petsmart for fish tanks? Ive asked before but received no responce. It aparently automatically adjusts your water to the correct ph and treats up to 200 gallons of water for like $4 or 8$ i think...

I have used it before and it worked good for me.
 
Here's the deal I've seen when it comes to the color kits and test strips. Maybe it's just me or I'm going colorblind, it seems difficult to perform these tests without reservations that you may be wrong. Yellow is yellow to me and to identify slight variations of the color seems tedious and accuracy is limited. I just recently started in a hydro kind of setup and I know for a fact going forward I will not keep growing without a accurate PH meter and a TDS meter. I have been lucky so far when it comes to guessing it, but again it's only a guess. I guess a continuation of this question regarding PH, how do people survive a grow with just a color reading of the PH. Is there success in this, and what about TDS?
 
I seen these el cheapo tds/ph meters on ebay. It's in this store in there. They only say there 15 bucks or something. Anyone have any luck with these. I'm sure you get what you pay for, but for that price they seem to be a disposable kind.

i bought the 3 in 1 the light meter works good moisture wrks perfect but the ph is seriously questionable. :leaf: i use a capsule type with a color chart pretty straight forword
 
In the past i used a pH test kit from a pet store. It's for fish tanks and fairly accurate in increments of .2 also cheap to buy.
