My grow store guy told me that using Baking soda for up and vinegar for down, with Tiger Bloom Flowering nutes was not a good Idea. He said it is very bad for the plants. Is this fact?

I have been using Baking soda for up since the plants started growing in their water and Nutes for every watering and feeding, was he just trying to get me to spend money or what (It worked) It was only $12

But I really want to know how and why this is bad for your plants, I only had to use barely a pinch of soda in my nutes and water to get them dead nuts 6.8

Also what are your opinions on Fox Farm Tiger bloom, I am starting to flower as of yesterday so The next watering will get 1/4 strength added.

Them people will tell you whatever it is to buy their products. The guy at the garden center where I live told me that molasses wasn't good to use and would not recommend it. Bottom line is I very much doubt that shit willl hurt your plants...after all what do you think the ingrediants are in ph up and down? I know it says on the bottle harmful if swallowed:lol:

My ph down says phosphoric acid, citric acid, and mono ammonium phosphate.

Ph up says potassium carbonate and potassium silicate. Both are GH brand.

Isnt baking soda sodium carbonate

So I should be giving my living plants stuff thats harmful if swallowed and the stuff alot of us eat every day isnt good for them. Sounds fishy to me

What are your thoughts on Tiger Bloom?

Agreed, fishy... He wouldn't make money on you using stuff you already have around the house, but then again he's probably not paid on commision and even if he were how much could that have been. More likely he just didn't know one way or the other and it may have just sounded wrong to him.

I recall seeing other people using baking soda and vinegar with no ill effects, but it's been a while and I don't have any links.

I have no thoughts on tiger bloom, never used it.
