PH! The Truth!!!!

Optimum range of between pH 5.1 and pH 5.9, then nutritional deficiency and/or toxicity problems can occur. For hydroponic nutrient solutions used with inert media, keep the pH at 5.2 for optimal elemental uptake

So where is the depate???

What is a depate?

Hmmm, what are you trying to say about ph,you need to elaborate alot more detail.

If a soil grower leaves his ph at 5.2 he will have some roasted ass plants quickly.

everyone thinks that in hydro 6.5 is the right ph but it is not so just for the actual hydro science of growing the absolute truth about nute uptake and ph is lower period... Anyone have a rebuttal plese support your statements with references.. This advice is from expert authors not heads on web sites.... Published studies...

Why wouldn't you take your own advice and support your statements?

On here, I'll see people post what pH they use to answer someone's Q without reading what medium is used.

I've see WAY more (hydro)people prescribing 5.5-5.8 for people that are growing in soil here, then the other way around.

Now a 'good' poster would say 5.5-5.8 for hydro and 6.3-6.8 for soil. ya know cover all the bases?

If one were to look at a hydrophonic nutrient take-up chart based upon PH, one would see that certain nutrients are taken up in different volumes as PH increases or decreases. The best PH in hydro for marijuana plants is between 5.2 and 6.0.

Check this out: http://www.simplyhydro.com/ph.htm

How is this for support??? Hope this is good enough for you. But if there are any who know more about it please respond and as my esteemed colleague here said support your statements... :-P

The pH of the nutrient solution is a major determinant of nutrient uptake by the plant. If the pH wanders outside the optimum range of between pH 5.1 and pH 5.9, then nutritional deficiency and/or toxicity problems can occur. For hydroponic nutrient solutions used with inert media, keep the pH at 5.2 for optimal elemental uptake. It is at this point that roots most readily assimilate nutrients. These pH and TDS/EC recommendations may seem low relative to the normally suggested range, but are based upon information garnered from "Hydroponic Nutrients" by M. Edward Muckle and Practical Hydroponics and Greenhouses. They both document the low pH resulting in increased nutrient uptake and my experience has shown discernible health and yield improvements at a ph of 5.2 over higher levels.

oops. Just realized this thread was like 2 years old. Not even worth the bump. I'll cross my fingers and hope it goes away.
