I have one of the same brand. It has worked well for me, but I can't attest to its longevity as I have only had it for a little over a month. I think for $25, that looks pretty solid. I paid $70 for mine, but that was from my well-marked-up local hydro store. Mine is a "ph51". The only things that I got for paying over twice as much were a +/- .1 accuracy instead of +/-.2, and 2 point calibration. I don't think the .1 will matter much; as long as you don't keep your pH in extremes. I suppose the 2 point calibration might be useful (mine has a calibration screw for pH7 and pH4 solutions); but then again, it could be bullshit, and totally useless. I would go for it.

Oh, also, in looking at the pH meter I have, I noticed (and remembered) that I have a 2 year warranty on it. The hydro store was telling me about it, but I was pretty stoned. He said that they are really cool about replacing it if it breaks. I just went to their website, and they say they give a 2 year warranty on all of their products. I thought that might be a good thing to know, too.:joint:

No problem. And I know the color guessing game all to well. I was using drops, and I would stare back and forth between the vial and the chart for like 20 minutes trying to figure it out every time. That shit drove me crazy.

got that and the 15$ tds meter. no problems, just calibrate after every grow. the less u use it the more likely you have to calibrate it.

i have an oakton ph2. its been on point for well over a year. i jsut calibrate it once a month or so and keep the tip soaked in ph7.0 liquid. It was around 84 dollars. I think that it was money well spent because i like to try and keep my ph accurate and stable. Plus its fully water proof. it would be good for hydro users to just leave floating in the reservoir.

I have the ph600, and it seems to work fairly well. You have to check calibration each time you use it, and I've found it generally fluctuates about .1 to .2 each time. I did have one instance where it just went totally wacky and wouldn't read at all. Literally, one reading would give me 6.2 and the next 0.4 and then 11.3, etc. I thought it was done for, but the next time I tried it, it worked great again. I'm not sure what that was about.

I think it's fine if you're looking for a cheap meter. Just expect it to not be the most reliable tool. I plan to use it for now and upgrade when the funds allow.

thats really what it all comes down to, if you got the funds buy a $100 meter and youll have super accurate readings for years... spend $10 - $40 and youll have ok accurate readings youll have to calibrate it all the time and maybe buy a new one every grow.... but if you dont got the funds its better to know than have dead plants... you feel me...

Plus the Ph600 comes with a factory warranty it used to have a 2yr i think its less now but still theyll send you a new one if it breaks during the length of a growcycle..... that works for me..
