PH tester question

So I'm gonna have to buy a separate one just for soil and then one for my nutrient solution?

cdd10,
No...you can test soil with a hydro tester. You take a measured amount of dirt...stick it in a measured amount of water and shake it up...then test the water. Sorry don't have any more details...but that's how it's done. A stick-it-in the ground tester isn't too accurate anyway.

It's always best to test and correct dirt before planting in it. Hope that helps.

cdd10,
Hey dude...I ran across a soil ph test method. It's formal name is the volume extraction method. Use a 1/2 ratio like perhaps half cup dirt to one cup distilled water. Shake it up...let stand for 15 minutes and then test the ph of the water (using your hydro tester).
