if my soil is neutral ph before planting and my water is neutral ph and my water/nute mix is neutral ph am i all good? should i even bother with a ph tester?
which nutes are you using... I would think the ph would sway a little once they were added to the water. But in short... If you were certain your water is ph 7.. & after mixing nutes it is still 7.... Yes that would work, I wish it was that way for me though, I hate PHing. <3
i would buy a ph meter. cause even if your water is fine and your soil is fine once you add nutes to the water its gonna change the ph...unless youre using the AN ph perfect nutes, but still ive read complaints about those not being so ph perfect.
Nutrient uptake is best around 6.5 in soil, so you might want to get a tester and adjust your nutes and water. You can see some micronutes are locked out at neutral.

i would recommend the a combo ph/tds meter...Hanna makes a waterproof one that i've found to be pretty good. Its not cheap but a great investment, wont have to worry about getting it wet and measures total dissolved solids too. I let mine float in my water/nute mix. heres a link
