PH Meters - Help

Aah, why are you needing any meter for soil?

Keep your bio's active = who cares about pH in soil.

I know there are those who get all techy like and use ppm/ec for soil......I never understood that......Use the feed charts by the nutrient makers at 50% if need be and up it as needed from there. Got it going nice and pretty? Feed that rate!

Luke Skywalker with the batteries out on his sword-blaster-thing, it sounds too me

use the force, understand exactly what you are doing

measuring the hydrogen level in soil is serious dumb

leave to noobs to discuss at volume

as soil is constantly on the move ph(hydrogen) is too

and in all cases the soil acts as a buffer between the rootzone and the nutes

again it changes with temp, humidity etc

go without and learn, as all good growers do ..lol

i was wondering if i would be better off buying these instead?
That ph meter looks a lot like the eTechCity meter you can find on Amazon for $18 US. So, that one you linked to seems exceptionally expensive. I have the Amazon one. It works ok.

Personally, think it's a lot of work to maintain a ph meter (storage solution, calibration and probe cleaning solutions). If you can get away from it, it's less trouble. A Control Wizard Accurate 8 soil probe would be better for you. This would let you see the soil ph, not just the ph of what you pour in. It costs about as much as the ph meter you're looking at.

The TDS probe seems expensive too, when you can get an HM EZ-TDS for $20.

Do you live somewhere that your options are limited?

Sadly, most of those who write those books are just that - writers!

You truly need none of it! pHing soil is a waste of time if you know your not watering with a solution below 6.5 - your golden.

PPM's and EC are simply not needed......I have grow logs covering over 40 years! EVERYTHING is listed in ml used per gallon.
