PH dropping and EC rising

Hi need some help. I have just changed to bloom nutrients, and had a EC reading of 1.8 and PH of 5.8, water levels dropping, but next day or even 12 hours later my PH drops to like 5.2. Not sure what's going on, and EC just keeps rising, I want it to feed not keep adding more water to res. Any help? Its done it all week.

Best to post this in hydro section. But if your PH is dropping you may have a root issue. Need more info to be able to help though.
What type system you running?
Water temp?
How many weeks into flower are you?

if you just flipped there is no need to swap to bloom feed for couple/few weeks once they pass the stretch then switch over to bloom feed


An EC of 1.8 is really high so I would change out the water and start at a lower dose

first check roots and make sure they aren’t facing root rot. I believe that’s one of the main causes of PH dropping.
Post this in hydro section and you will get far better responses

Hi guys thanks for the responses, I'm new here so sorry about not posting in the hydro section. I'm running a NFT system, soon to be switching over to a R-DWC system. I have been using cyco nutrients going off the cyco chart, so I'm guessing depending on what strain you have, it can vary a lot. So will take advice and lower the EC. I am using RO water and do not have root rot as far as I can tell, i was under the impression I had to switch to bloom soon as switched to 12 on 12 off, so thanks for help saying not to for few weeks :-) the PH drop was soon as I switched over too bloom of that help, never done it before. Thanks again :-)

According to the chart I posted, she's drinking, more than eating. Lower the ec. Also, a res change may be required.

Thank you I have taken note, I also have put back to grow nutrients for the strech that someone mentioned, and the PH is fine again. I have lowered the EC to 1.4-1.6 too see if that does the trick :-)

I would try even lower EC till they start eating again like start at 1.0 and see how they take to it within first day and if they are eating then it’s easy enough to up the feed a little or if they aren’t then just add more PH’d RO water to lower it more till they begin eating. Once you find the sweet spot they like then you can slowly bring it up.
As for feed charts from nutrient manufacturers start with like a 1/4 to 1/2 what they call for since most just want you to burn through them to sell you more. Once you get the hang of it you won’t need a chart and you can go by what the plants tell you they want.
Hope you get it straightened out and back on track

Sounds like a plan to me! Thanks for the advice, and yes they are expensive so can see why they want you to get through them, I was looking at advanced nutrients as they have the "PH perfect technology" but they have like 17 bottles, I want to have the best for my plant but hard to find what I really need to help get the best for my plant rather than overkill and extra bottles I don't need. Would really like to not have to PH every day lol I'm away most of the day sometimes and want my plant to not be out of range. Thanks again:-)

Just ph it to 5.4, and let it rise to 6.2ish, then down it if necessary.

Not sure if you can get jacks or powdered nutrients but far cheaper and super easy to use also PH stable once you get it dialed in.

Yep lower your EC/PPM mate. Res change so you can start with a clean slate and be in complete control

Thanks guys, that seemed to work, my PH is stable and my ec stable and water dropping. According to the chart that's perfect conditions. appreciate that help.
