Just finished doing my first Hydro grow and I’m switching now to Coco ... currently have 4 amnesia feminized and 4 Pennywise feminized in their second and a half week from seed made the mistake of starting them in Coco Loco and had to flush flush flush before they burned which is why on some of the pictures the bottom leaves are completely fried
Anyway I’m using straight Ro water ph at 6.3.-6.5 when I measure the run off my pH is at 7.4 not sure why or what I’m doing wrong Or even if that’s normal

Coco should be around 5.7 - 6.2. They should show a change pretty quick.
You probably started your nutes too strong. Now the roots are growing stronger & can handle the strong mix - 1/2 strength of what bottles suggest could be better. What nutes you use?

OK I’ll drop my pH down to 5.9 I’m using advanced nutrients connoisseur with voodoo and B-52

Why would my run off PH be raised so much I have only used the nutrients one time I’ll go ahead and bump it up the current run off PPM’s are at 300 I figured I’d wait to the PPM‘s are down to 100 or 150 and then start using My nutes with cal mag

Shooting from the hip here.. lol
Do you have a buffer solution that you can spare?.. maybe try running a buffer through the Coco neutralizing the pH. Then use pH adjusted water to bring it to desired pH.?

I do I have both the buffer 4.0 ph and 7.0ph i’ll definitely try that .
What would be the reason for an increase in pH the plants don’t look that unhealthy I’m definitely going to lower the pH now I read somewhere that it could be between 6.1 6.5 at the beginning which is why I did what I did still a rook

I'm not a Coco guy... So I guessing really.. I've read that some people add lime to it to prevent fluctuations.. I'm not sure why its happing.. i used to use promix and other peat base subs,, I'm mostly soil now..

I was thinking about trying pro mix next I’ve seen some videos on YouTube with awesome results .. I’ll try doing what you said first and see if I can level out the pH it might be something with my ro water and my meter reading wrong when there’s no salts in the water

Check out doctor Gruber's journals.. he's all promix and uses jacks classics and kills it for how he grows.. ( he journals doctor greenthumb seeds)

If you'e going to grow in coco then grow in coco. Forget the coco loco and all the bagged stuff. Get the compressed coco, re-hydrate, rinse, then flush with 1/4 strength nutes. Now your ready to go. Forget all that pre-bagged loose coco.

Why? Because Coco Loco has stuff in it. I feed my coco my own blend. I like a blank palette. That's just me. Not knocking Coco Loco. If it works for you then fine. Keep using it. Don't change what works. I just like to start from scratch. That works for me.

Happy Growing :-)

Make sense... having a blank canvas and being able to put in your own specific nutrient soup with the results you want is probably best I’ll see how this Coco Loco does for me and I probably will try Doing pure coco if i go this route again. Thanks!

A steady diet of ph'd nutrients would do them good.
I'm using Royal Gold Tupur, straight from the bag, with Canna a&b. That's working for me. It's come time to buy more media and Pro-mix is local. So now, I'm pondering if the Tupur is worth the shipping cost or give Pro-mix a run?

Just started feeding them this morning connoisseur A&b with advanced Bennys phd to 5.8 only bringing up my PPM’s to about 250 and I’ll slowly move up from there .. my run off now is it 6.5 after using the buffers seven solution last night and then bringing my pH level down to 5.8 It’s working slowly but Surely
As I said after this I’m gonna try a pure cocoa grow with no additives and after that I’ll do a pro mixed batch and see if I like Hydro cocoa or pro mix better going to stay away from pure soil for now
