PGR's, Yay or Nay?

Hey guys!

This is to all the people that have grown with PGR's or who know people personally who have before.

I am just curious, what exactly do PGR's do and how much better or worse does it make your weed? Before and after pics would be sick if you all have any.

Not planning on using it - just curious :D.

Not saying I grow quality weed on everybodies scale but I totally agree with that statement. I truly believe for themost part everything the strain needs to be everything it can be is in the seed

It was prevalent in Australia because all the truckers who transported it (weren't smokers) just wanted bag appeal. Slowly word is getting around and they prefer green bus these days.
Pgrs make the buds more fat and bulbous, makes the hairs super hairy, prevents the trichomes coming out till later, much less trichomes, the leaves don't pray at all all, stops stretch, and pretty much loses the strains natural appearance as all pgr looks the same.

After it dries, the super hairy buds tend to look brown /red. So it's called bikie bud or Vietnamese red. The mass outdoof stuff in Australia was ragweed so to the middle men, the pgr stuff was the bees knees.

Hey man, thanks for the breakdown. Interesting stuff, have you ever grown with it?

I have seen someone use PGR as a grow shop once recommended the product to him.
I wasn't impressed as I there wasn't any trichomes till MUCH later.
The buds did look amazing, they were all very uniform, about 1.5-2.5 inches high and 2-3 inches wide. The popcorn buds were SOLID.
Imagine you grew a bud and naturally it'd be 4 inches high and 2 inches wide. PGR packed this all into a shorter solid form.

PGR is also a bandaid for extremely hot rooms ( which tend to put out leafy and stretched out buds), or grows that went overboard when stretch wasn't managed.
I slowly tried to educate those around me, and grew my own and believe me! a lot of people have probably never seen natural bud here. The feedback was amazing. Some were saying its the best thing they ever smoked, some couldn't believe 1oz was so much (PGR bud was heavy so 1oz looked less), some couldn't believe how frosty/sticky my buds were.

During my time catching up with some of growers over the years, I noticed they all have described the trend that people are wanting 'green' buds these days.
If you're curious on what it looks like this is EXACTLY how it turns every bud, reguardless of your strain. Notice the leaves don't pointUP!,
Notice how no one blasts this guy, it was 2010.

Stick to natural PGRs like triacontanol
What’s that?

Wow, you have so much experience with them! that's crazy, I don't know a single person who's grown PGR. Where are you located? Funny how things change so easily ey.

Learn to grow properly before you start to tinker with PGR's. If you don't understand their actions you're just shooting in the dark.

PGR's can be beneficial if used sparingly and at the right timing and dosage. I don't use them much anymore because of my current system but still use thing like TRIA and Brassinolide on cuttings and soil grown plants.

TRIA is often overused and causes nitrogen toxicity because of its high nitrogen retention. I use TRIA more on my tomatoes nowadays than on Cannabis.
