No, I really didn't and I'm glad I did some research before I had that done, because I'd never do anything like that to an animal.I would have felt horrible if I found out later.I didn't generally believe in declawing anyway because cats need to be able to defend themselves;but he's a different case and ran across my three year old's face with his claws out yesterday as she was lying back on the bed as I put her shoes on.He didn't hurt her badly, she got a small poke to the nose and her eye watered, but there was no injury, thank goodness. He's just kind of a dummy, he's loving, but he's blind and kinda dumb, and he scratches us a lot.I was so mad at him yesterday I considered taking him to the pound before I calmed down, because he could have really hurt her.I'm gonna try the nail covers and see if it helps.
Stoney I have them on my cats. They work! The only problem is they come off pretty frequently so you do have to take them back to have them put on. My vet told me I could put them on myself, I tried...didn't work! It is the most humane way of doing it though. After he explained to me what it is like to have them declawed, well, NO WAY! Hey, you can also pick out the colors they wear! My one cat has pink and the other has green right now. They do get used to them after a few days, you will like them.

Aww.Looks like a shorthaired version of my gray cat.
Yeah, thing is,I did that on a guinea pig once, and I trimmed well away from any pink, and I still cut her....I'm scared to do that.
How about trimming them back so they have blunt ends? (I'd hate to try to trim a cats nails, got bandaids?)
He lets me push his nails out of his toes, I tried to see what I would be in for.I'm going to order them online. The other cats I don't have a problem with, just him.
