Pet Fox?

I had actually read an article from last months national geographic that my prof had also lectured on in my genetics class. Seems that the over the last sixty-seventy years in the Soviet Union they had been interbreeding foxs for several favorable traits that would lead to complete domestication of the specific species. They are not at the stage yet where all progeny can be housebroken, called over, or even cease from attacking/destroying household items. Certain things have been observed through generations which were shorter tails, specific color patterns and showing different emotions through changing "wags" with their tail. The intra-dependance of the species is still well preserved so it will still do what it wants when it wants to do it, whether accepting attention from its owners or tearing apart and eating your couch. Get a dog and save yourself the headache lol.

This is awesome, I seriously want a FOX as a pet now... wtf I'm jealous.

We have two dogs and plenty of room for more. Idk like I said I stumbled on this site that had em and thought it would be cool to have. I'm pretty impulsive and they are cheap so I figured what the hell right? How awsome would it be to own a fox. Maybe we will just get another dog.

A silver fox is not a seperate specie, it is simply the "silver" color phase of a red fox.
And yes, fox piss has a vile and potent smell that will ruin any carpet in short order. As a youngster I had a pet raccoon & he was off the charts when it comes to the cool factor - but - inevitibly he would get frustrated when we played & that was your clue to fukn run !! I finally had to release him in the wild & hope for the best. If you do go for the fox, just remember that many wild animals that have been pets simply don't know how to survive on their own, so releasing him when he becomes unmanagable will most likely = a death sentence.
