JB I was thinking about moving the top booster and shooting powder a bit back, so I would start the top booster on day 35 vs 40.

Is that a good idea, chime in folks, I would love some input on the timing of the boosters. I am satisfied with the veg so far but I am nervous about the final bloom as my booster regimen is new.

Hey Bender my friend, everything looks fenominal brotha. Like Berry said those chem D leaves reaching for the sky are a good sign that they are happy. I wouldn't stress on the top booster man, just don't over do it and they will love it. Oh and don't adjust your ph after adding the shooting powder as it will climb a bit, but that is how it works. Adjust before adding the SP to 5.8 and you will probably end up a little over 6. Anyway, the plants look great man, those pistols on the cj are sick man. I take it you found that strain to be a keeper, huh?

Hey brother, great to see you stop by bro. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you very much for giving me tips with the H&G boosters.

CJ, yeah bro is certainly a keeper. She is potent and very a high yielder along with as vigorous growth you could expect from a bud plant.

Tell you what though, that grapefruite haze is a killer plant I am keeping her for sure, LOL she is under CFL, but next round you bet she will be a star.

You are talking about CJ that is on Day 32 right?

Chem D/ GFH/ G Rom are on Day 23.

I will feed the CJ 1/2 strength for 1-2 days just to make sure there isn't too much salt when I start the Top Booster right after that.

Thanks Jberry for you input brother, if possible can you explain a bit to me why apply the Top Booster so early in bloom. Do you go by the way the flowers look? I am still trying to get a hang of the theories behind booster timing. From what I understand Top Booster sends a signal to the plant that it is dying so all the efforts are switched towards flowering.

LOL I indeed add new genetics very frequently. I added the OG not long ago, I haven't talked about the JO here much but I have mentioned it before here and there.

So I am not sure how the Planetary OG's arose, but we got Neptune OG, Mars OG, Jupiter OG, etc.. I did a bit of research and couldn't find any solid info but the word was that Jupiter OG is the strongest one. So I am running a little tester to see how I like. I don't see my self growing OG though, the yield is way too low for me. On the other hand I am very interested in OG hybrids, soon I think I will pop OG18 x Skunk from DNA.

There is also Banana OG going around which I have heard good things about.

Banana OG, I'll bet that is amazing. I had some banana kush that was so awesome, but can't ever find the strain when I am looking. Hey , what ever happened to the skunk crosses? Didn't you pop a few of those seeds a while back?

Banana OG does come by rarely but lately it has been available.

Oh yeah out of 5 skunk cross beans 2 turned out female. The females were both Kandy Kush x Skunk. I was very low on space and plus I think Kandy Skunk is the one I was least interested in. The internode spacing on the Kandy Skunk wasn't good enough for me to keep it around.

On the other hand the 2 males I tossed out were seriously the best fucking plants I have ever laid my eyes on. Minimal stretch, super tight internode spacing, extremely beautiful 11 blade leaves. Damn if I had the resources they would have made some amazing crosses. 2 of the males had a wonderful fragrance even in veg. They had all the characteristics for a great male, but unfortunately had to be tossed out.

I think OG18xskunk will me the next one I will pop, but this time I am gonna germ them at 12/12 so I don't waste time on males.

Damn, sorry to hear that man. I threw out a few strains lately too which is one of those bitter sweat things. Like you I am hunting for the best genetics and have to cut te one's that are below the bar. I was thinking of popping some, but haven't seen anyone finish them yet and wanted to wait an see which strains look best before I start them.
Oh by the way, the update looks great man. I really like the looks of that grapefuit. I just saw someone else that was raving about the strain too.

Yeah some folks have mentioned to me that how could you throw out these plants, but I think both of us are on the same page. If it doesn't meet all the criteria then it is a gonner.

I got a chance to meet Donny from DNA Genetics, he said that the two of the best one from skunk train are the LA Skunk and Slee Skunk. The OG18 wasn't half bad either he said.

I don't have any saved links but there are a handful of finished pics of the skunk train. LA Skunk is a definite winner.

I would say all of them are ready by my standards and the cj is really ready...
I do go by the way the flowers look. When the the flowers hairs start to bunch together and form a small cluster is when I give them their first dose but I keep it at half strength or less to make sure I don't cause any burning. If no burned tips show up then I increase the dose slightly. When the flower clusters form into small buds and start to "wrap" or spiral around the stem (like in your pics) is when you want to hits them the hardest at full strength for 5-10 days... Then move straight on to your shooting powder.

Basically when the plant is done forming its structure it will start to concentrating on putting its energy into the flowers and you want the PK to be available if it is needed (This is usually around half way threw week 2 of bloom for me but it will vary)... Some experts even claim that the high dose of PK at the start of bloom will actually "trigger" the plant to flower faster but others experts debate that theory. -Im sure this is what H&G means by "tricking the plant into thinking its dying" because I'm pretty sure there isnt any other type of inducer in the Top Booster.... Its just P,K, and a little Iron as far as I know.

gotta go... peace!:joint:
