I am looking for some personal 'reviews' of strains that are veryyyyy low on the paranoia factor. I have an elderly patient who is new to using marijuana, and this is a huge concern for her. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Does anyone know what cannabinoids contribute to or detract from the paranoia of the bud?

durban poison is probably the most new smoker freindly stuff I've been around.

low thc at first.

paranoia is just caused by ones owns fears of perceptions being altered.

or something with high cbds to counteract the thc - they say together they inhibit and hinder specific effects of each other..

I was just curious about people's experiences, as luckily, paranoia hasn't really ever been an issue for me before. Thought maybe someone who had dealt with the 'paranoia factor' could guide me towards a certain strain.

I've yet to find a strain that didn't come with a little anxiety, especially the first dose of the day. Higher CBD Indica Strains are what you'll want but if the patient has an existing anxiety disorder they might have a hard time finding anything that doesn't bring on a little now and then.. Just my personal experience...

two very good points...

and usually not knowing what it is going to feel like and then its not understanding how long it lasts etc...

my opinion would be to just keep loose and calm and just know that whatever they choose to medicate with preferably on the indica side as it tends to be more calming, relaxing, and sedating and have less "energetic effects" than sativas...

and just know that its a silly little plant that cannot harm you or anyone else and should be enjoyed and cherished to help in its medicating and entertaining properties for all to enjoy...;)

Thank You :)
She is having wonderful pain control, and is SO much better off than being hopped up (or doped down) on Big Pharma's answers to chronic pain. I even understand that she was on the floor playing with her grandbabies for the first time in a couple years! (She was either always in too much pain, or too doped up to do so before.) She just asked for my advice, and I said I would try and get some ideas from you wonderful folks! :) Personally, since it really has never been an issue for me, I just am at a loss. I do think she can deal with 'a little now and then' but not the 'freak out' ordeal I have known some tokers to exhibit! (Man am I lucky I have never had that... looks unpleasent as HELL to go through)

Indicas causes less anxiety. Sativas help your mind along, gives you insight, helps you think. Indicas fuck you up, you don't think, you get couch-lock. That's why I like Sativas during the day and Indicas in evening. My dad has PTSD and they say avoid the SAtivas for home.

I have bad anxiety and most all Hybrids and Sativas set me off for a bad start. Over the years I have found these strains are the best....for me anyway
Blue Cheese,Purple Kush,LA Confedential(IMO the best Pain med in the world),Bubblegum,Purple Monkey Balls,GDP and Snow White.

THANK YOU, my dear! Maybe that is the key for her... one strain during the day and another at night... She has gotten SO much relief with MMJ and is overall much happier and healthier when she isn't pharma'ed up, so I'm really trying to help her.

There are two distinct types of Bubblegum. I have the Serious Seeds variety, which is supposed to be more Sativa. I did get a couple Indica leaning phenotypes in my 10 pack though. I believe it's TH Seeds that carries the Indica dominant variety.

I read this post and kept trying to think of the strain that was for muscle spasms and low anxiety and paranoia, but still really good. I went to Attitude a few times trying to find it to help out the OP. I remembered what it was today. How did I remember, cuz a ten pack arrived today in my Attitude order. I forgot I had ordered it!:eyesmoke: I love it when I do that shit to myself. I ordered it and then surprised myself when it showed up. :bigjoint:
Anyway, I way also looking for quality, low paranoia bud and saw this and ordered it. http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=1631

I have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety and used to get very paranoid when smoking illegally a few years back. Now that I'm a cardholder I haven't had a paranoid high in the nine months that I've had the card. You may want to talk to your patient and find out what they get paranoid about, for me it was getting caught or having someone I know see me high. Now that I know I'm legal I don't care who knows. I've actually taken a liking to Sativas in the past couple months and still no paranoia. Just explain to him/her that he/she is legal and there is nothing to be afraid of or worry about. I've learned that it really is a mind over matter issue.

You are right with some instances, but it certainly is bigger than that. My father is completely screwed up from Vietnam, that war is long over and he has been home for decades.
Another thing is that medical strains actually have ratings for anxiety levels in that strain, that shows that is isn't entirely on what you are scared of or why.
Do you have an excellent point about state-of-mind and how comfortable your environment is, and how that will affect your buzz.
