Perpetual harvest will it work?

I'm planning a perpetual grow with a 1.2\1.2\2.0m tent for vegging and cloningcloningalcloningcloning all under a 400w hps, I'm thinking if I can get 6 plants in 11 litre pots ready for flowering every 2weeks, then I can move them in to a 1.0\1.0\2.0 tent with a 400w hps for the first 2 weeks of flower.I have a separate 2,4\1,2\2.0 meter tent which I was thinking about using it as a three light a 400\400\600w with three sets off 6 plants rotating along the room every two weeks giving another six weeks flowering time giving me a full eight weeks flowering..I have a 6inch ext fan and a four inch inttake. I have a spare 4 inch ext fan too to add to the room if temperatures are too high....in my mind this method should work but I need some reassuring as I'm no expert and have doubts I may be wrong with my idea..any advise from the experts out there is much appreciated.. ps I'm using coco and clay pebble mix coco a+b nutes and big bud in flower✌

Why don't you just put plants in each of the flower tents and let them flower until the end? This moving around to different tents seems complicated for no reason.

What I would work toward, if I were you, is find 2, 3, or 4 really good phenos, and keep them in the veg tent. Cut clones off them as needed, give them a little veg time in the flower tents (if you can swap your HPS for an MH during this time that would be best) then flower them all the way out. This way, you can be sure you're going to be harvesting your absolute best genetics. That way it won't be a crapshoot every time.

Better yet, if you have the space in the veg tent, take clones from your mother's, and have them vegging in the veg tent while you are flowering other clones in the flower tent. When you harvest from the flower tent, your new vegged clones should be ready to start flowering in the flower tents. That way you maximize the use of your time and get as many harvests per year as you possibly can.

Forgive me if you were already planning on keeping mothers of good phenos. I couldn't really tell from your initial post.

3 tents needs 3 fans, 3 filters, multiple circulation fans.
8 week strains take longer than 8 weeks. They need to transition into flower.

I would work with 3 sets of plants in flower at any one time, the small tent for clones and early veg, you want double/treble the clones you plan on using, its good to be well ahead of the need or you get a big gap in your perpetual and that messes your time scales up.
You keep your clones in small containers when rooted and you have space to pot up and allow them the extra pre veg.
Then you pot up again and transfer them to the 1.2m tent for proper veg for 3 weeks. That extra veg time makes a big difference.
Then you move them to flower. I would want the same light all the way along the tent, either 2x600w or 3x600w if your fan can cool the space. That way your not moving plants about until they are ready for chop.

Get a Metal halide or cmh for veg, it makes a big difference to how the plant stacks in flower. A big difference.

Don't forget you need a drying space too. :bigjoint:

Firstly- Thanks everyone for advice I'm very grateful.
.I do have a metal halide but up until now I've never used it as I was not sure if they were any good but I will change the hps light for a halide in my veg room now.I was planning on keeping some mothers too I'm sorry I forgot to mention.
My reason for wanting a two week harvest was just my way of trying to keep my smoke from running out ! I agree it does probably take a lot of work and I think I will have to change my plans now that I'm getting good advice of everyone!
I think I will try 3 600watts in my big tent then and see how I go with the temperatures if there too high I'll swap for two 400w instead if you think I'm better off keeping same light all the way down..
Sorry for been a bit clueless with this question
but when you say you would work with 3 sets of plants in flower at one time do you mean you would use 3 different phenotypes to take my cuttings from to flower?
or you would just have 3 plants in my biggest tent on flower from the start to finish?...also just wondering about the four flood tables, by flood tables do you mean to use a flood and drain system again sorry for the silly questions..
Also I am going to take my clones from my mothers and keep in the same tent and veg them for a few weeks too.. but I'm still a bit confused as to how many plants I should have on flower in my big tent I've got 11 litre pots, are they big enough or do I need to get bigger sized ones?? Thanks again for your help everyone✌

It will work what you are proposing but a azz load of work moving plants to different tents. Easiest with 4 flood tables in a 4x8.

You will need true 56-63 day strains. Your clone game better be on point too or production will grind to a halt.

Is pretty cool to harvest every two weeks.
That's why I stopped my perpetual. I got sick of trimming every 2 weeks. It was the never ending trimming nightmare. But initially it was pretty neat ;D

MH's are very very good, try it.

in my mind this method should work
That's how it begins. It always looks good on paper. What can end up happening is, the plants which are supposed to be ready to flower, are not "ready" flower size wise, unless you have the stagger dialed in perfectly with the correct amount of stages, which is no easy task. When I tried multiple plants finishing together, the VEG areas didn't keep up.....I am on a plant count.
I have 4 stages in a flower room, 4 stages in full veg, two stages of what I call "Pre-veg", and one cut in a bubble cloner, each stage 15(ish) days apart....11 plants according to MI law.
The Flower(ers), and the Veggers are in 7 gal pots. The pre veg are in #1 nursery pots. The rooted clone will go directly into the #1.
The Flower room is basically two separate areas that are 4'x6'. The Veg plants live in two separate 2x4 areas. Pre veg, and cloner about 2x2.
With a true 9wk finisher, I can harvest ONE plant every 15-17 days, with 6+ zips. On harvest day, I cut a clone. Each plant moves up one stage, and round and round it goes....From the day the clone is cut, until its harvested is over 150 days.
It took a LONG, LONG, time to get this rolling like this. Had to flower small plants a few times.....

Yeah trimming every couple of weeks gets old quick ey!.

Took me over two years to get into a groove....
If you have to consider a plant count, it can be quite challenging to stay on track.
Think it took me something like that too. Though early on I was changing things here and there as you do. Sounds like your system is a lot more work than I could handle.

By sets I just mean 3 stages of how ever many you plants, 6 plants in your case. I could of worded that better as usual.

A good reason for having the same intensity all through the tent and not having to move plants is you might find you have to tie the odd plant up or throw a net over for support which then makes it difficult to move.

Another thing to consider is the negative of having all your flowering plants in one tent, if you get an out break of pests, mould it risks affecting the whole crop, also if you have a herm issue you can pollinate all stages of plants which then resets you back to square one with a huge wait until you get going again. Just worth considering.

As for mothers, first few years I kept mothers but then I just switched to taking cuts before plants left veg tent and continued that way, might be best for you to keep a mother or two given your low veg time. You can keep those with clones, because your clones will be happy at the edges and corners of the tent where light levels are a bit lower.

No doubt you will find the best way forward for you and a good balance between workload and timescale. always good to get advice on a plan but a bit of trial and error goes a long way man.
Wish you the best of luck with it!

Isn't that the truth! No plan survives first contact with the enemy. Nice system.

Lol - I switched to perpetual because I was sick of spending 2 or 3 days trimming and limited drying space, but I'll be doing only 1 plant every 4 or 5 weeks.

Peat Pellets, I killed just about everything I put in rockwool.
Thanks...i am murdering everything in rockwool too. A bubble bucket and a water farm just sitting there trying to save me money in coco....
Im giving it a go with peat plugs next time ! thanks a ton

once Again first thing is a massive thanks to all of you for your advise, your kindness and the time you've taken out to help me!
i can't thank you enough! ✌
I've got to say though I agree completely with what your telling me about certain things not going to plan along the way and adjustments will need making from my mistakes that I did expect and Like you say Trial and error!
No plan escapes first contact with the enemy I like it

Think going to be less errors now than i would have faced thanks to me coming on here and asking you guy's for expert advise..
again sorry for been behind you all in struggling with some of what to you guys are just basic thing's!
do you think then that my best option if possible is to veg my plants for about 3 weeks after a short pre veg just after the cloning stage ? And thanks for clearing up the sets of plants issue I'm now with the script lol I think!.
Again massive thanks to you all!!
RESPECT from
