I have a six foot plant in a 10 gal pot. This plant is perfectly healthy by most standards, however occasionally lower fan leaves will fall off? The ph is fine, can anybody help me out.

Wtf - a 6 foot plant? Where are the pics!!! lol, I must see that.

Lower fan leaves falling off is probably normal with a plant that size... Maybe I'm wrong, wait for the experts.

6 feet is to tal for a 600. a 600 only penetrates down below the canopy about 24-36 inches. sounds like its to tall. and their is not enough light at the bottom

That is a good point, the majority of my cfl's are at the base. This is kind of an experiment the rest of my plants are about two feet. Would that cause the leaves to fall off?

No I'm just saying my cfls are little over two feet. So towards the base, so I need more light?

10 gallon pot for an inside grow is crazy unless you are growing in a private room like a spare bedroom or warehouse type setup.

Part of the price of having big trees indoors is that the bottom areas just do not get enough light which can make fanleave/stem connections weak in the lower section of the tall plants. Add to that many soil growers regularly water, or over water, their plants instead of using the drought simulation method of watering. The difference is that with the regular watering plants tend to be picky and metabolism slow, so this can lead to insufficient moisture making its way to the lower parts of large plants.

Using the drought simulation technique of watering only when the pot is tinder dry causes plants metabolism to speed up consuming every bit of moisture it can because it know not from whence its next watering shall come....so to speak. The faster the trees metabolism, the faster the uptake and the more moisture is held in the plant therefore lower fan leaves get better access to nutrients and water and stay healthy longer....if there is enough light getting to that area of the plant.
