So, yesterday I added a bunch of nitrogen-rich nutrients: FF Tomato & Vegetable, Organic Miracle Gro (only because it has H20-soluble N), Organic Blood Meal, molasses water on soil and leaves, and urine. I didn't see any extra yellowing or browning at the tips today and I think she's already looking less pale. If in a few more days, I'll know it wasn't nute burn. I've read that it's hard to burn plants when you're going completely organic. (I'm pretty close--the molasses isn't organic and my diet isn't 100% organic so the urine isn't either.)

I've been doing some reading about self-watering pots and concluded that I'm going to get salt-buildup and I think later this week, I'm going to transplant anyway to traditional pots--this will give me more room for the plants and the roots. Plus, I can more accurately test the pH since I'll have run-off. I will be leaving for 9 days for spring break (late march--during crucial flowering) but I will be using plantastic self-watering devices so my babies don't die! http://www.plantastic1.com/

Oh yeah, on the third node on my White Dwarf: pistils showing. Almost as good as pussy

Haha. I've changed my seed selections but I'm still close with White Dwarf (an auto variety) and Amnesia Lemon.

Removing excess metal for custom fan mounts and making more space was quite a task. I used a knockoff dremel-type tool and Dremel brand heavy-duty cutting disks. I probably went through about 30 of those disks. Make sure to cover your mouth with a shirt or a mask so you don't inhale too much off the steel dust and WEAR EYE PROTECTION because those disks shatter after awhile and like to shoot off in all directions. You can get a 20-pack of those disks at walmart or a hardware store for about $7. A good dremel tool will run you 50-60 bucks. Don't buy a cordless type--they're too weak. Don't be surprised if you get excessive sparks during cutting--that's normal--just obviously don't do it around anything flammable or gas fumes or high-proof liquor or solvents--you get the idea.

Definitely wanna see your setup! I love finding people using similar setups and equipment. You got a grow journal? Can you post a link?

Appreciate it man. By the way, welcome to rollitup! People argue about which cannabis-growing forum is the most helpful and least hostile and I can assure you that you will encounter a few jerks here and there but for the most part, I have no problem finding the exact (and correct!) answer to nearly every problem or question I have.

On another note: my grow. I've made a few more changes since I last posted pics and info: I got rid of the light mover (the plants are growing and it was too hot by the canopy), I made DIY carbon scrubbers for my exhausts (much needed), I nixed the whole self-watering wick system for a traditional soil system (for drainage and avoidance of nute lockout, burn, salt buildup, pH, etc.), added in a 42w warm CFL, and switched the cool 26w CFL for a 20w warm CFL (because the White Dwarf is now flowering :weed:). So, now for lighting I have the 35w HPS, the 13w LED, the 50w LED, a 42w warm CFL, and a 20w warm CFL for a total of 160w of all the spectrums and all three major lighting types while keeping it no more than 86F by my plants (at the worst)--not bad, eh?

But, I do have another change I wanna make. I understand that without CO2 supplementation, 70-80F is optimal but plants can thrive in 80-90F if given extra CO2. Being a hobbyist brewer as well as a cultivator (if cops/narcs are reading--this is a fairytale), I want to allow keep all my lighting and allow the 86F as an optimal temperature. So, I plan to get a 200-375ml plastic flask from Wal Mart, cover it in duct tape and add sugar, champagne yeast (highest alcohol tolerance of any yeast), and water to it--poke a hole in the top and glue/epoxy an airlock into it, and run a flexible PVC tube down to my plants for CO2 supplementation. That way, I won't feel as bad about 86F (and neither will my plants).

After the transplant from the self-watering pots to traditional pots, my plants have really taken off--the new pots are bigger so the roots apparently are liking it. They're in their dark cycle right now so I'll post pics soon--including the sexy pistils on the White Dwarf!

I can't wait to see it! I added 3 co2 generators and I swear you can see a difference in growth rate! One down side is your room will kind of smell like a bread factory:eyesmoke:

I didn't know that about the heat that is good news because my flower box runs at like 90...

Yeah, my plant-level temps were only 82F today but yes, plants tolerate higher temperatures better with higher CO2 levels. Waiting for the airlock for the CO2.

Hey man cant wait to see your progress.. i just started getting some yellow on my tips.. N defi? Weird becasue when i transplanted it it was put in brand new soil so thats kinda odd to me :(

Keep me posted brotha!

I posted on your problem. Most likely an N deficiency.

Just wait 'til I post my next batch of pics, both plants have about doubled in size in the last 10 days.

Hey, that means a lot man.

Pics as promised. In the close up of the White Dwarf, you can see a few of the pistils--camera/lighting makes it hard to get quality close ups but the pistils are everywhere. I've also started to train her into the SCROG setup to let those lower leaves get some more light. All the changes can be seen in these pictures per my last few posts except the CO2 supplementation--which is soon to come.

A note on my nutes (since they seem to be working pretty well): This is the tea-like mix I've been using for the flowering White Dwarf:
-1qt. bottle of carbon-filtered water, pH'ed from 7.2 down to 6.5 with lemon juice
-1/4 tsp. Organic Blood Meal (12-0-0)
-1/2 tsp. Fox Farms Happy Frog Tomato & Vegetable Fertilizer (7-4-5)
-1/4 - 1/2 tsp. of unsulpured molasses approx. (1-0-5)
-1 Tbs. Fox Farms Big Bloom (0.01-0.3-0.7)
I alternate this using this (about 16 oz. per feeding or half the bottle) and pure 6.5 pH water every time now.

Veg nutes for the Amnesia Lemon:
-1qt. bottle of carbon-filtered water, pH'ed from 7.2 down to 6.5 with lemon juice
-1/2 - 1 tsp. Organic Blood Meal (12-0-0)
-1/2 tsp. Fox Farms Happy Frog Tomato & Vegetable Fertilizer (7-4-5)
-1/4 tsp. unsulphured molasses approx. (1-0-5)
-few drops of Fox Farms Big Bloom (0.01-0.3-0.7)
With the same alternation schedule.

Any critiques on the proportions of my nute mixes is highly welcome! I bow down to experienced growers.

An update on my plan for the grow: since I don't want to greatly reduce my yield for the White Dwarf by putting it on a 12/12 (in the case of starting to flower the Amnesia Lemon), I am going to keep the whole grow on 18/6 all the way until the White Dwarf finishes which should be 6-7 weeks tops. Then, after the White Dwarf is out of the grow box I'll have a free pot to which place a clone of the Amnesia Lemon. I'll then immediately put the Amnesia Lemon mother and the clone on 12/12 and begin to flower. I leave for Spring Break on the 20th of March, so if I chop the White Dwarf on the 19th, she'd be exactly 9 weeks old--perfect. Assuming I begin to flower the Amnesia Lemons on that date and school is out on May 21st, the Amnesia Lemons would have exactly 8 weeks to flower (given I chop her on the 15th of May, giving her time to dry before I go home). I should be back at school in the beginning of June though to work, so I might just wait until I get back if she needs more time.

Finally, the pics.

Back at it again, dudes and dudettes.

So, I can't see to stop improving my grow box. Here's what I've done:

200ml Crown Royal Bottle turned into carboy with 1g champagne yeast (tolerant to 18% abv), water, 35g sugar, a tad of lemon juice, and a crushed up multivitamin--roughly per this thread's instructions (scaled down): https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/162265-co2-via-yeast-right-way.html
Definitely check it out, this guy has done some serious calculations to maximize DIY CO2 fermentation setups. I need all the help I can get because this is only a 200ml bottle--it's all I can fit in the case.

DIY Fermentation Vessel:

I topped the Amnesia Lemon and will continue to do this rigorously until I have maybe 4, 8, or 16 main colas--she's got a lot more time in veg until the White Dwarf finishes and I'm going to have to do my best to keep tabs on her. She's already taking off like a rocket.

Amnesia Lemon:

White Dwarf Pics with a Macro Shot of the Main Cola:

I also upgraded my carbon filters in a specific way for them to work with PC fans. I think I might start a thread with instructions because they turned out really well and this is an apparatus of my own creation--as far as I know--it's a different approach than any of the DIY carbon filter threads on this site. Smell is gone and I didn't sacrifice hardly any CFM.

DIY Carbon Filter with Bounce sheets, Activated Aquarium Carbon, Duct Tape, and Activated HVAC Filter Carbon Sheets:

Hope you all enjoy.

Yeah! I saw your grow and +repped you and subscribed. I'll def. be watchin' your next one too. I just finally figured out how to do macro shots on my point-and-shoot so I'll be posting some pistil porn here soon enough.

I do have one question: how tall did your White Dwarf get?

I have a few other feminized auto beans in my arsenal for future grows. Probably this summer or fall: Dinafem's Roadrunner and Lowryder's Easy Ryder. Reading about the Green-O-Matic right now. Problem is that I have about $120 USD of premium beans right now that I have to grow before I buy any more: White Berry, Super Lemon Haze, OG Kush and a few others.
