PC Grow Box Blue Mystic

Newsflash: just finished the case. After 2h of work I finally managed to merge in all the components. Now what about the lights? Well, an idea struck me that I could just stick a few magnets to the extension cord... but I only found one magnet which proved to be not enough and the weight of the lights "un-stuck" the whole thing from the PC case... so then I got mad and figured out I'll just use twisty ties to attach the cord to a piece of wood... and then screw it to the case. Very brutal I know, but today all the shops are closed and I would have to wait until tomorrow to buy a magnet...

So thats concludes the whole project, it's a tad bit mickey mouse in some places. Maybe if I'll feel like it, I'll buy another case and this time do everything proper.

Day 3 of the Blue Mystic. I noticed today that a wee little taproot emerged from the seed, so I popped it into a small plastic cup (holes drilled in the bottem to allow excess water to run off). Now all we do is wait...

Now unless somebody actually goes and tries to inspect the case, he/she won't have a bloody clue what's going on in there. Stealth isn't really my concern, I just liked the whole idea of a CC grow case. :D But still, looks pretty normal to me.

The large amount of light spilling out every crack and the lack of the carbon filter give it away.

As in if someone actually tries very hard to look through the hole in the front they will notice that inside there is a small rainforest growing. And if you see a PC case from a distance (because why would you want to inspect an old pc case in the first place?) you won't stop to think if there is MJ growing in it. You'll just think of an old PC case...

And about the lights, damn, for all they know I could of installed some sick LED's inside to light up my Titan Z (sarcasm) graphics card. Then again, this computer is going to be in my boiler room where no one goes into.

Satisfied?

i always liked pc grows, great info for college students/stealth growers.
some type of ryder strain auto would be perfect for it.
these grow low.

good luck.

yes i hate autos as well, still have my berry and diesel ryder free bees.
stay away from sativa, if using a normal strain.

I like how it turned out man. You know what it'll make it stealth? If you know someone is coming over that shouldn't see it, all you have to do is pick it up and hide it since its so small :bigjoint: Good job and good luck with the grow!

Thanks a lot kimoolos, really appreciate it. :D very true that's the beauty of micro growing, you can stick the case just about anywhere you want to. And since it's in my boiler room, the fans working, sound just like the boiler, so that souldn't be a problem hehe. All I have to do is make sure nothing is directly in front of the fans so that they won't get clogged up or something like that.

I'll post some pictures when the seed sprouts, probably tomorrow.

Peace. :bigjoint:

Nice build man, very glad you found adaptors for the lights. Messing with DC is harmless as long as it's low voltage/amps, but AC is something you actually have to know what you're doing or you could kill yourself. If you do want to hide the light I found black cardboard works wonders but you'll always get some light through the cracks. I ended up just putting LED strips under my desk and behind my monitor, it hides all the small leaks nicely and makes your computer desk look pimp! (And no I don't have the timers out where people can see it, they were just out while I was setting everything up.) IMG_1175.JPGIMG_1176.JPG

Hey man, thanks for stopping by. Your micro grow looks amazing, that's 100% stealth you've got going on there. Problem is, I don't have a PC computer so I can't keep mine so close to me like your one (otherwise it would look wierd, you could always say you have a server or something like that). I'm just going to stick mine somewhere in the corner of my boiler room, and put some things around and on top of it. The sound the fans make a barley even hearable and they sound just like the boiler when it's running.

I sealed up as many holes as possible using black elecrical tape. Worked wonders but like you said, lights leaks are always gonna be there somewhere.

Good luck with your grow. :D

So I decided I'll be using a LST method called ScrOG. I have never done it before, but I have been looking at other peoples micro grow journals. So basically I understand the whole concept of using this method and unfortunately (for me that is) it works best with regular strains because of the fact that you can fill the whole screen because of the long veg phase. Again, regular strains > autflowers, oh well next time I'll try.

So basically I want my plant to grow nice and tall and lets say if everything goes well after 3 weeks of veg I'll add the screen, correct? Then I just "weave" or push the stems underneath the screen so that the bud sites can grow through them.. damn this is a bit confusing. Easier done then said really. But thankfully it's not going to happen any time soon. I'll sit down and think about it a little more.

There's so many PC's in my house people have never once questioned why I have 2 next to each other. but yeah, server is the excuse I'd go for if I was ever questioned.

There's a link on the 4th or 5th page of my journal to ||GHOST||'s journal which is a PC case scrog, he's still a couple weeks from harvest but already you can tell he's going to get some killer results considering the size of the grow.

Also just reading that you are only 5cm from the lights, just be careful man I had some heat issues with my plant when it was a seedling, might pay to get a cheap digital thermometer and keep the probe at canopy level.

I say canopy level because the difference between soil level and canopy at the time I was having issues was about 5*c, enough to start crispyfiying everything :P

Hey man I just checked out your grow, nice work! Thanks for the link as well.

About the lights, I lowered the cup to about 10cm or even more under the lights. A little bit of strech will help me anway, and it's better to not stress the plant. Thanks man. :D

I did a little experiment and switched the fans on 7.5V instead of there usual 12... the good thing is that they made BARELY any noise... but the down side was that in the space of 2h the temperature shot up from 24C to 28C. So keep your fans on ladies and gentlemen.

I also checked the humidity levels and they are at a very low 22%... this is a bit disturbing to me. I know the plant hasn't even started to transpirate and I added two dishes of water and that did nothing. I might buy myself a small humidifier.

Apart from that nothing much going on. I must have planted the seed too shallow, because it's shell is still on. I might try and pick it off with some tweezers later.
