Pc case fans/adaptors for them

Im doing a stealth grow with two seperate boxes, one for my mothers, one for the s.o.g. I will be using a 110cfm panasonic whisper fan for my bigger flower box, but then im using mostly pc fans for my all the other air movement in both boxes. The easiest way to hook up a pc fan, that iv seen, was splicing the fan's wires to the wire of a phone charger, or any household adaptor. I just found a laptop charger that is more than 3 times stronger than any 4 cell phone chargers iv found. I just started this thread cause pc fans are the way to go for smaller grows and their power supplier could be alot of different things, so just hit it up

No problem guys. But i kind of altered my original thinkin. the 120mm fans require 12v input and the highest iv seen a cell phone charger go is 5v. I hooked up my 120mm to a phone charger and after about 5 days it started making a high pitch noise, which sucks cause i'm going for stealth. I ordered 4 12v battery supply hook ups(looks the same as a cell phone charger) off ebay and i hooked it up yesterday and my 120mm fan went twice as fast, but that whining noise is permenent. Sucks but i got 4 other 120mm fans comin in the mail to match my 4 new 12v chargers. I also have a 80mm fan thats runnin on a cell phone charger and it is still running silent, so i guess 5v is sufficent for running a 80mm, but i didnt check how much it actually required. Hope this helps

12v adapter for PC/Case fans.

Could just use the PC's PowerSupply to power 12v stuff inside your box/room.

I havent seen much talk about UPS's and hydro rooms.. (Uninteruppted Power Supplies). They contain usually contain a 12v battery of some sort and could be tapped into, to power your fans. They also run for at least 20 minutes powering a few computers during power outages. These could save your ass when it comes to pumps.

Well every 120mm fan would need 12 volts so you'd need 1 for each fan if it only put out 12v. i ordered 4 12v battery supply adaptors off ebay for $20. 80mm fans are alright but if your gonna get a 80mm, might as well get a 120mm, they pump out alot more air. But good point on the power outage, that would indeed be a life saver for hydro systems as well as lighting, especially if your in the flowering stage
