PC Box Grow - Slow Growth and droopy leaves w/ Pics

Hey All,

This is my first grow and was hoping the experts here can help me with questions/problems I have.

This is my setup:
- PC Grow Box (yes, I made it myself - server case w/ four 24W 6500K bulbs, two 12 volt PC fans, and reflective paper)
- Two plants (the bigger looking plant is an unknown seed, the smaller looking plant is a feminized white widow)

IMG_0949.jpgIMG_0950.jpgIMG_0955.jpg

Process/Environment:
- 3 weeks into growth
- Watering every 3-4 days with tap water left out in the open for 24hours.
- Room temperature is ~31 celsius and local environment is very dry.

Problem:
* The pot with the unknown seed has droopy curled leaves with little bits of yellow spots. I believe this could be because the plants were too hot because they used to be too close to the lights?
IMG_0954.jpgIMG_0957.jpgIMG_0951.jpg

* The pot with the white widow is quite short and bushy. Very small curling in the leaves, but difficult to see as leaves are small. Growth seems quite slow?

I would appreciate any comments or questions...

I'm a first time grower myself...when my seedlings showed the upward curling on the tips (pic 4,5, & 6) I moved the light a bit further and that lowered the temps a bit.. What's the temperature/humidity level like around the tops of your plants? I also made sure to keep my humidity above 55%, until they got about 4-5 weeks old...

all my great experiance (Im on my fist indoor grow) tells me thats heat burns/stress (all them guids and stuuf I read tells that if the leaves edges is upward curling they are to hot)

your sure 31C is top temps ?

I keep 28-32 or so im my room (also why I keep a eye on em and read about heat stress) but that is also large plants ..

when I had small seedlings like yours I keep temps around 25C and the T5HO atlest 4 inches away ..

how is your air flow ? and air quality ?

but lets hear from somebody with more experiance ..

also .. what about PH ?

you say you water with tap water .. do you adjust it to a 6,5 PH ?

and 3 weeks they do seems small to me ? dunno .. have you begon to use nutriens yet ?

and if they dont grow much do you realy need to water evry 3-4 day ? do you let the soil dry out a bit ? (top 1-2 inches)

they are hot and too wet. Cool it down in there with better ventilation and let them dry out. Also don't spray them with the lights on. You got em sitting in water with a puddle of water on the leaves and it's hot as hell. Thats why they look like that. Some strains are more sensitive to heat than others. Hope you plan to scrog or LST them cause they'll get a lot bigger. You can do this, just read up a bit more and keep at it. Good luck!

Hi all, thanks for all the comments..

I decided to put the plants further away from the lights and the new leaves seem to look much better. As far as them being too wet, i usually do make sure the soil is dry enough an inch down before i water, im probably going to water a little less often moving forward just in case.

Air quality in my city is shit. Not sure I can do much about that, but the ventilation in the case should be okay with two 12V fans one blowing in and the other blowing out.

I just got an electronic ph meter today, the soil ph was 8 :-(. Im planning on adding a few drops of apple cider vinegar to my tap water I leave out for 24hrs and make sure the ph is around 6.5 before i water next time.

yes, i plan to LST. Need to read more about that!

yea PH is to much off .. 8 is realy a lot .. you could replant .. in fresh pots with nice drain holes in the bottom and not completly soaked dirt ..

wash the roots carefully with hand warm water so some of the old loose dirt get wash off.. carefull !

and give em some realy good dirt with the right PH 6,2 - 6,8 perelit/coco/wormcasting aso. search it ..

water with 6,5 water

cant cost more then 20-30$ in total .. think they are wort it .. if you dont have it allready ? get some nuts wile your at it .. in a week or so when your plants look so much better in ther new pots/soil you schould begin to feed them a littel .. start with 1/4 strenges ..

and try to keep temps around 75-80F

Ooh yea and City air is`t that bad .. well for plants that is .. a lot of Co2 .. remember they breath what we exhale and visaversa ..

Hi All,

I posted some new pictures of my plants. They've grown a bit bigger and taller (I have also started to scrog). One plant ( AK-48 ) is looking healthy, the other (unknown seed) is not.

The unknown seed plant is starting to show some issues with yellow wiltering leaves. I think its a nutrient deficiency problem and I just gave it its first 1/4 strength nutrient watering.

I also noticed a little green bug inside my growbox, I tried to kill it but not 100% sure if it was the same bug. I was wondering if this is a problem and whether I "must" get rid of him and how so.
