So do we have to post here that we want to join the competition, or do we just post on the official competition thread when that starts?

If it's the former than...

Strain(s): 1 Big Bud (clone), 1 G13 (clone), undetermined seed

Lights: CFLs for veg, 400W + 600W for bloom

Method: TOPPING / Regular

Nutrients: Advanced Nutrients

Soil: Coco Coir, peat moss

.......................

So, will people be sharing information on how to grow big plants in small containers or are people going to keep info to themselves so that they can win the competition? I was wondering about some topics like root pruning.

Don't plants grown from seed require more room for root development than clones? I thought that was the case, but I notice a lot of people entering the competition with seeds, so maybe that assumption I have is incorrect?

why would a tap root need more room then roots coming out of a clone?

i had to read that a couple times

Yeah, that's my question.

OK, for instance... I start my seed in a half liter pot and by the time it has its first set of true leaves it's already close to needing to be transplanted, whereas I have a few clones in the same pot, plant is 3 or 4 times bigger and has half the root development.

And obviously and seed starts with roots first, whereas a clone starts with no roots and a few nodes, plus is closer to be ready to flower (you can put a clone into flower with practically no roots). The seed has all the hormones to root, and that's it's main focus in the beginning...

So from experience, and from common sense I deduced this fact... if I'm wrong please set me straight.

lol it still confusing me as to how that would even come up or some one saying that, a clone basically has like 10 tap roots sticcing out off the stalk and a seed only has one, they both branch out and dig into the medium

idk man pretty sure they about the same - the same size and shape of plant with the same number of nodes and the same dry root mass will produce the same in the same conditions whether it is a clone of the genetics or the seed of the genetics - in theory.

Fditty00 you can also edit your post in Advanced mode and uplaod pics
