Depends on what weed i have, some makes me super paranoid and I always overthink, but other strains make me chill out and free worried. But overall i think the environment your in really dictates your paranoia

Plus your paranoia of paranoia!

It is quite literally a vicious cycle. Just know feelings of inferiority lead to genius, feeling of superiority lead to madness. I read an article that over-thinking, if found to be a regular phenomena, seems to be an attachment/manipulation of the dopamine reward system. It can lead to schizophrenia or great works of art. I have that too, although I phase this out because Bob Marley was known to smoke 1 pound a week, there are many people who over do drugs and have no implicit malady. Its when you over extend your reach and over indulge to a point of absurdity, like 22 e tablets in 5 hours, or 50 blotters of the course of a weekend.

The statistics for actual drug induced psychosis/institutionalization are amazingly low, but when dealing with individuals you must throw out numbers.

@ Canadian; where abouts do you live, I am in Regina, sask myself.

but it may not be over doing the drug some people have a gene deficiency that may cause them to develop schizophrenia from smoking cannabis, its like this all people have 2 of these genes, some have two strong (most common) some have 1 weak 1 strong (less common) and some have two weak (least common) now the people who have 2 strong are not at all effected by cannabis and have no chance of developing schizophrenia from it, while the people with 1 weak one strong have a 2x greater chance and the people with 2 weak have a 5x chance. one of the tick offs that you may have one or two weak genes is that you get paranoid. this theory is relatively new so i wouldnt base my complete decision on it, mostly because its a theory and hasnt been tested extensively, just something i pick up on the nature of things.

Yes. I have read this paper, and saw that documentary, as well. But the fact is that the causation of schizophrenia hasn't been established. Also that genetic link can't be traced to schizophrenia, so its kind of a broken theory. And I would say it is abundantly reasonable to say that over doing it will have back lash eventually, whether or not schizophrenia be the symptom.

As far as your post goes, you are kind of poisoning the well so to speak. You proclaim that it may be entirely based on genotypes, which has no scientific basis(no causation has be proven to exist), and that most the population have the strong genes and the minority have weak genes, with the mediocre genes riding somewhere in the middle. Obviously some would take this wrong and others would make assumptions so as to justify their habits.

As well the stats that are used are created to scare people, 2X greater risk?? 2X/5X of what, to really know you would have to have a bank of all DNA and schizophrenic cases that were precipitated by drugs and other environment related issues. And the "...one or two weak genes...you get paranoid." Is that based on any real information cause I haven't been privy to such ravenous statements. That requires an entirely different set of data, which is even more detailed because any person is lying if they say they have never felt paranoid.

I posit that is the people who have an experience that isn't simply absolute bliss, they feel that they have a condition. Depression, paranoia, ect. ect. are all merely temporary states that are created as permanent. People are thinkers and our society doesn't like people to think, you hear it every where; "I wish I could just shut off my brain.", "I wish I didn't even exist.". Everyone has a need for perfection these days and instead chaos and instability are the likely routes to happiness. Come on man, this is just life. Every one gets paranoid, everyone hears a voice, and everyone has equal risk of developing schizophrenia. No matter what you can never rule your self out as that unfortunate bearer of the flapping flag.

Peace

hey man i said it was just stuff i heard off the nature of things and one of the things that they said my be a tip off is that if you feel paranoid or uncomfortable high then it may be a sign that cannabis is not for you, i have no opinion on this im just reiterating what was said.
