Paralyzed In Sleep

There is no way this could be confused with an alien abduction IMO. I am for all purposes awake and aware but paralyzed. There is no continuation of my dreams, no little green men, bright lights, or anal probing LOL. Only wishing with all of my being that something will happen to wake me up.
Do you think you have the same dreams as other people? Everybody dreams about different shit

People who say they were abducted by aliens.......are in sleep paralisis and are actually dreaming about aliens. But they really believe it was real.....because it feels so real

That happened to me. Being an Italian polish kid I went to the projects for the very first time and was freaked out lol. I then went to sleep and dreamed I was falling off the project building into a sea of water. My heart pounded and my arms were flailing around. I'm good in the projects now that I'm in the hood more but damn that dream happened so many times.
Is it commonly known that Italian-Polish kids are freaked out when they visit the projects? What that hell are you talking about? :peace:

its funny because before i saw this thread i wondered if anyone else got it... and many of you sound like yours is just like mine.. similar to the "trying to get out of a wrestling pin" statement... have any of you ever tried LSD? i found that when i went from having it 2-3 times a week to not at all.. i had them a lot.. then they just went away... then a while ago i had a hit... soon there after it happened again.. (i must also add that i have had an obsurd amount of lsd...)

now the wife knows whats happening when i groan .. now she wakes me up.. freaked her out a few times though

I said I am NOT dreaming when this happens. Doesn't matter what dream I was previously having. You believe what you want. Notice you didn't quote me because I qualified my statement with "IMO", meaning it was MY OPINION.

They are also called "night terrors" and yes, I also believe that UFO abduction is a by product of these night terrors.

I think the mind is quite powerful and capable of projection. If it happens on the subconscious level, then the projection will be viewed as external by the person doing the projecting. Few will be able to dissuade this person that they didn't "see something". Indeed, they did see something..... they saw an external projection of which the origin is their very own brain.

I think UFO abduction is a byproduct of Aliens fucking with us. Minds are weak and easily broken.

I also think our minds are weak, but it us messing with ourselves....nothing more. It's still interesting and someday science will peel this onion.

man this shit happens to me like at least once every couple months. I heard that when you go to sleep you brain actually shuts down the movement part paralizing you so you wont act out your dreams. Sometimes you are awake when your brain is still telling your body its sleeping. Theres also a spiritual side that some people believe its an obe of some kind. Either way its scary. I hafta shake my head back and forth in order to wake up. Its like im trying to vigorously shake it but it barely moves. Its some weird shit- glad to know Im not the only one though. I dont think its anything to worry about.

This shit happened to me real bad last night. It was like someone was choking me,I couldn't breath at all.I woke up scared as shit,I didn't want to go back to sleep lol.

I found out that I can do this to myself to.Cant really explain on here though,I'd have to show you but I doubt anyone would want to do this anyway lol.I guess the best way to describe it is to be really high, lay on your back and free your mind, within a couple minutes it usually happens.

I have jumped out of bed and then just like fell over and flopped about like a fish...like one minute I was fine, and the next minute I had no bones...I worked third shift though, got off at 4am and still had to get kids to school at 6am and then start the next day at 8am...sometimes I would only think I was awake enough to move...

Has any one else had this it sucks,It happens every once in a while to me just as im waking up.You cant move or talk at all it happend to a couple of my freinds to.I heard it happens so you dont hurt yourself waking up to fast. How many other RIUers has this happend to.

I'm no rocket scientist or anything, but it could have something to do with the giant coke snorting rat you're hanging out with. If he's as gacked up as he looks in your avatar, there is really no telling what he does to you when you're asleep. I'd rig up a nanny cam and some big ass mouse traps if I were you.

This is the exact opposite of the hypnagogic jerk. That is when you are almost asleep and all your muscles relax, but a small part of the brain that is still awake realizes this and sends a full body muscle spasm out because it thinks you are falling.

Now what happend to you is the opposite. A part of your brain woke up before the rest, and was not able to affect motor functions. It can be very scary if it lasts even a minute long.

This is a good video for explaining a lot of the crazy shit our brain does. The video focuses on deja vu but towards the end he talks about similar effects as what you talk of. Great overall YouTube channel for learning.

Very common, along with hynic jerks and hypnagogic hallucinations, which I'm prone to. Weed helps stop all the patterns and noises keeping me awake.
