Parabolic is ok only for a circular beam. But to work a square space you need something made for it. I’m not up on specific products.I'm currently running a 600w hps with a standard shade in a 120x120x180 but I feel it doesn't stretch to the corners
Would using a parabolic shade work. How whould the heat be is it hotter than a standard a wing type
i always used to use parabolics the big metal ones with a million nuts and bolts, then i got the secret jardin lightweight ones x two, problem i had was air movement with oscillating fan caused both to twist slightly causing both live wires internally to eventually break and short out good job i was using RCD devices on both and 3amp fuses or my house would have been in flames, bad design especially with only one hanging hook so you cannot stop them twisting under any air movement very unlike metal paras which have two hanging hooks. They run the same temperature but the heat is radiated above the canopy rather than directly into it so height is less a problem and you can get it closer than a horizontal fixture, you get a better light spread my farthest plants are respectable enough.
It's something I wouldn't be without, check out the Secret jardin daisy reflector, a mylar 98% reflectivity lightweight parabolic £35 for a 60cm and £58 for the 1mtr.
I've the 60cm it weighs about 1lb my metal 1mtr is around 7/8lbs
You must be in the u.k. Star Dog, growing, well stardawg, nice scrog too.View attachment 4752842
My square space does better than average.

I'm in the process of cropping so you can see the buds at the farthest point from the light.

600w +10%, 5x5 tent.
Thanks for the heads up buddy, I have the small one I sometimes use in a 1x1mtr tent with only a 6" fan but I'll keep an eye on it.i always used to use parabolics the big metal ones with a million nuts and bolts, then i got the secret jardin lightweight ones x two, problem i had was air movement with oscillating fan caused both to twist slightly causing both live wires internally to eventually break and short out good job i was using RCD devices on both and 3amp fuses or my house would have been in flames, bad design especially with only one hanging hook so you cannot stop them twisting under any air movement very unlike metal paras which have two hanging hooks.

If it's still a problem for you, you could tether one of the spokes, have you sorted it out?I had two x 60cm ones, keep an eye of them twisting when any air hits them.
