Papaya anyone?

its been a long time since ive been on here, holy crap. anyway yea things have been hecktic around here lately. broke up with the girl, furnace was givin me problems so i had to get it repaired and my plants were surrounding it so i had to tear down my whole set up and move it else where. but its still rockin right along im at day 35 of flowering and the buds are getting frickin huge! starting to get pretty sparkly too! =) im super excited im hoping they will be ready in another 10 days or so. cant wait to start seeing the amber colors. these are the pics of them just before i moved them to their new location

oh yea those are the males i had to chop by the way... sad day that was. i will take em out for picture day one of these days soon, you gotta see the buds on these babies!

bongulator-- you must have harvested by now, how did your papaya turn out what did you yield per plant?-- this is my first grow so i dont know what all this bud is going to weigh when its all dried and cured, but im really hoping to get 2 oz. per plant, anymore than that and i'll be dancing and singing! the size of the cola on one of my plants is so big i cant even get close to getting my hand around it, that in itself looks like it could wiegh a half an oz! its about 7-8 inches tall and thick as hell! i dunno tho we'll see, im hoping 45 days of flowering will do it for this strain but i'll know when the time comes thats for sure.

and now for an update...i was hoping to harvest this weekend, saturday, but tomorrow is friday already and yea, they are just not quite there yet... i know at the very end a few days can be all the difference in the world as far as getting that peek potency, which is what i desire. =) but right now all i can tell you is that the buds are getting so thick that they started bringing the whole plant down, not just the top cola but every single branch!! i staked the center of it to hold it up straight and let the side branches just kinda hang out so that the small buds further down the branch get thicker, i did this like 3 days ago and it seems to be working very VERY well. question is....considering this is a white strain, of course they are getting pretty sparkly but not as much as i had hoped for... i thought they would look like "a cold morning where they just got nailed by a killer frost." maybe that comes a little later?? more and more hairs have been turning amber colored over the past 3-4 days.

so what more do i have to expect and when? i really dont wanna mess anything up this far into the game ya know? im not so much worried about messing up as i am just wanting to get the best out of my crop. i will get pics up when i harvest cause they are so damn huge i dont want to move them til i have to, and light is too bright for photos when they are in their space.

so yea papaya is has a very nice aroma too it, the bud smells like a fruity melon, and its suppose to smell like a sort of pipe tabacco smell when smoked...i dont know, thats just what i read anyway, but i tell ya what one of my plants definatly smells soo damn fruity it makes my mouth water, the other one doesnt smell quite as fruity. its more of stronger smell, i think tues. or wed. will be harvest.... time to set up the strings get that fan blowing and oh yea those damn tiny scissors!!

well the unbelievable happened today!!! i am so mad i just cant believe it!!! so i was at home today at the time my grow rooms light cycle kicked on and i peeked my head in to notice my HPS didnt fire.. i hear the ballast buzzin and the lightning bolt is going through the bulb all seemed fine.... but after 20 min it still didnt fire up....i fucked with it for probably 2 hours and i cant get it to work, i tried everything it just wont fire!! i guess im gonna see about getting a new bulb but damn, that was a $115.00 light bulb!! it has like a one year warranty but i disposed of all the proof of purchase so yea. fuckin great and i got 6 clones that were suppose to be under that light...right after i harvested... i had two 150W cfls in there but one went to the clones cuz they wanted more light and now the only light i got on my two big girls is one 150W cfl. but they are so damn close i was planning on harvesting on tuesday but i dont see waiting any longer now that my main light source is gone...

so i plan to start the process tomorrow after work, if anyone thinks i should wait and stick with my original plan even though my main light is out let me know, and/or is this low light hurting me more than helping me? if i dont hear anything from you guys i'll be taking pictures and chopping them up tomorrow night.

well for those of you that have been following along now is the moment you all have been waiting for and me esspecially!! harvest time is now in session, here are my babies at harvest...

the one on the right side has a massive cola its crazy thick! i must say i am quite satisfied thus far in my first grow ever!! =)

lol here are some more, i guess the file size must be too big its only letting me do two at a time..oh well its fun. here are some close ups of that big ass cola.. resolution isnt the greatest but you get the jist of it anyway.

so anyway i decided to post these up right away tonight cuz i am just so excited to share with you, but man im getting tired i spent 4 hours tonight on the "haircut" process as i call it...and i only got one of the two plants done, the plant that got it first was the one with the big cola..=) and here is the after math and a pic of that cola alone next to a standard dixie cup to give you an idea of just how big it is...

Wowee! Her colas look almost completely white. While I'm STILL waiting for my girl to finish up, she's become the most incredible deep purple I've ever seen on a plant that's not a red plum tree. Literally eggplant purple, and still growin' white hairs.

wow thats awesome, im sure my babies could have gone til the end of the week, but my hps bulb quit working for some reason, i dont know if its the bulb or the ballast so i gotta get that checked out.. and i only had two 150 watt CFLs and lets face at this point thats just not enough light for these girls... alot of the hairs were turning amber and the trichomes were pretty intesnse, who knows for sure what they would have done in the next few days had my light not quit working, needless to say im pretty sure judging by the looks i wont be disapponted in the potentcy at all, and im tellin you these things smell like melon soo much that if i told you to close your eyes and smell it and you didnt know what it was, you would never in a million years guess it was pot!! your first guess would probably be watermelon bubble gum. im gonna dry until its ready to be cured and i think im going to cure it for 2 weeks before i call it 100% complete. i cant wait to sample it

you gotta show me yours at harvest!! im so jelous of your purpleness, someone else told me theirs turned purple as hell too....im curious now.

i have not tried any yet, but i got a couple of little buds crispin up on my night stand just waiting to be smoked, im gonna wait till they get a little crunchy then fire one up! =) im so excited. i got my light problem solved, it was my bulb... got a new bulb today but im still gonna chop the other one tonight cuz i need to get those clones under that light on the 18/6 veg cycle.. plus then it will all be ready at once.

well the second one is now done and hangin to dry, i figured they would yield about the same, even tho the one appeared to have alot more buds the other one had alot bigger buds, but having them both done and hanging side by side, the more buds plant wins without a doubt, they were bigger than i thought, the plant on the left of the chair in the pic yeilded what appears as almost double!!! after they are dried i will wiegh them out and find out what each plant yeilded exactly. i tell ya what tho my fingers feel like i spilled super glue all over them, man that shit is so damn sticky it sucks!! its gonna be good for the smoke tho =)
