I use single 42w cfl bulbs with reflectors for each plant during veg. They should be 2-4 inches from the top. I run mine 18/6.

During flower I use HPS, but with cfl bulbs you should have them 2-4 inches away.

Blue mystic is a short plant so being stretched out is a sign something is wrong. Im surprised nobody has said anything.

The retarded leaves are from nute burn, not bad though. Other than the stretching she does look healthy, good luck, im gonna stick around here.

Thank you for the advice man!! And the rep+ right back at cha! I started out 12/12 soft white cfl and the lights were pretty far away
But I've adjusted the lights real close now with the 42 and 55 watts over top, they were only on the side at an angle until today. I thought she was too tall and lanky from what the description and photos of others I've seen. I just chalked it up to having the lights too far away and no veg time under the 6500k. I hope it still turns out ok??!!! I was really looking forward to this one!! Have you grown or smoked the Blue Mystic B4? If yea, whats the skinny on smoke, taste, color, smell haha. Thanks again!!

Your BM needs supercropping, I think, in order to fill-out...it's wayyy too lanky.

Yeah ive done it few times. Its really smooth berry taste, with short cure. It should turn out ok, Just dont expect alot from CFLs. They are awesome for veg lighting but you should invest in small HPS light or large one depending on your needs. They have them as low as 50w.

Do you have more seeds to use?

I agree, I'm going to be super cropping and maybe throw her back in veg for a few weeks. The one on the side is a skunk #1. She was going to be a party cup grow, but just went outa control!! so I put her in a 1 gal pot. If you look down at my sig, if you click on 1st thrify grow. Thats the plant there. Lots of good photos. Thanks for checking in

I don't have any more blue mystic sucks. But it looks like it's a girl so I hope to get something off her!!!
I used to have an HPS and HID a long time ago and just recently got back into growing cause of my back pain and carpal tunnel. And Cfl's weren't around back then so I thought I'd give em a try. My last grow with the cfl's had a huge production!! best smoke I ever had. But still not as much weight as the old 400watt HPS I had. I will be getting a 250HPS soon to hang but will still use my cfl's along with that for the sides. I'm also keeping them for the veg. I realy realy love them for veg!!!
But for the next few grows I'm keeping with the CFL's to experiment and see what I can do!! haha.

So it appears that the Blue Mystic is a girl!!!! hooraah!!! And you can see my super cropping wasn't so super the first time. I had to do it again after the first day because she became str8 again. But she seems to be doing very well!

I've done about 10 grows and never had a hermie. I think as long as you don't have any light leaks or timer issues hermie's shouldn't be a problem.

I may have issues haha

Quick update, the big girl is doing great!! strong and tall. Lots of pistols coming out now!! I started this one of 12/12, but I've had one in veg for about 2 weeks and that one is short and bushy already. It's amazing what different lighting can do to and for a plant!!

So I made a cfl ballast and the thing works awesome!!! I've got about 350watts of light comming down and I put 2 underneath shining up. The Blue Mystic wants to grow, so I'm going to let her grow!!! View attachment 1392038

Thanks, No I have 3 CFL's 1 26watt = 100W, 1 42watt, = 150W, and 1 55watt = 250W. I'd love to have an HPS again, but I just can't afford it, and I can't afford to run it either. This is my first time using CFL lights, they are great for vegging but I'm not pleased with the bud production yet... But I haven't givin them a fair shot either. I've got a few more grows happining with different ideas of placement and such.. We will see!!

My big lights are going back in their boxes for a while when my current grow is over. Wifey's rules, lol. I do however hope to get a small one plant stealth grow going on using just cfl's. I've seen some impressive stuff come from just them.

Holy cow!! This Blue Mystic is taking off!!! in 8 days she's grown 7 inches!! I'm gonna have to start tying her down cause I've got a long ways to grow b4 harvest!! Sorry for the shitty pics, my phone is old and lame haha. I'll get some close up bud shots tonight. I've also seen those damn gnats again, not a lot, but I seen 2 or 3 running around on the soil just hangin out. I put some apple and potato slices on the soil and they went for that and then I burned them up. So I can't figure where they are comming from or hiding??

nice buds forming and got crystals all over the leaves already!! Shes gonna be a beast!!! I have to raise the light every 2 days now.
