Palestinian Article - do you agree?

The following appeared in an Palestinian newspaper. I'm just wondering how people feel about it. Do you agree with these sentiments? Do you take issue with them? Do you feel that these sentiments are understandable given the Arab-Israeli conflict and America's involvement in the Arab world? How do you feel about the article in general?

"There is a war against Muslims. But our people - my Muslim brothers and sisters - will stay committed to a resolution. That resolution must consist of solidarity in Muslim communities around the world. The hatred for our children and their future is growing and is being fueled every single day. Stay firm in your convictions. Keep loving your heritage and keep expressing to others that there is a better way than a war torn, violent, wicked, Zionist, new world order. That way is the Muslim way - law and order - love of family - love of nation. These are the principles of Muslim civilization. There is a war to destroy these things. Pray that our people see the error of their ways and regain a sense of loyalty. Repent Muslims! Be faithful my fellow believers. "

America, Our Nation is Under Judgement from God!

"There is a race war against whites. But our people - my white brothers and sisters - will stay committed to a non-violent resolution. That resolution must consist of solidarity in white communities around the world. The hatred for our children and their future is growing and is being fueled every single day. Stay firm in your convictions. Keep loving your heritage and keep witnessing to others that there is a better way than a war torn, violent, wicked, socialist, new world order. That way is the Christian way - law and order - love of family - love of nation. These are the principles of western Christian civilization. There is a war to destroy these things. Pray that our people see the error of their ways and regain a sense of loyalty. Repent America! Be faithful my fellow believers. "

It's odd how "law and order - love of family - and love of nation" can be interpreted so wrong. Like I mentioned before, why do we need Islam (or Christianity) for that purpose? We can keep law and order, we can love our families (and by extension, other people who are not biologically connected to us), and we can have love and pride in our nation. Religion keeps us from achieving these things on a grand scale.

The bit of article you posted is Islamic propaganda designed to prey on the gullible, uneducated of the Muslim world... Where have I seen that technique use before... hmm..

Edit: OK, so I see the game Rick. You post a statement from the KKK homepage and expect all of us on the left to jump right on it because you twist it in way to make it seem like it's against Israel... That plan seemingly backfired, huh? I didn't edit my post at all, I read your OP and commented on it without knowing it was from the KKK. I hope this post proves to you that it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BELLIGERENTS and EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE CONFLICT. The difference between you and me in this sense is that for you, it IS about the Jews, and anyone against them is antisemetic. That is the racist position to take. You're racist against the Palestinians (and probably most other Arab people). I see terrorism used on BOTH SIDES, you only see the rockets coming from Hamas and forget about the terrorism Israel uses in every conflict.

Not that any MORE proof was necessary...

how many times have we seen those same sentiments echoed? every race, religion, political persuasion and ideology has used the same sort of rhetoric to play on the sense of victimhood that lies waiting within any group. there is always an enemy, always some danger from those who are not "of us". we separate ourselves into these exclusive cliques to gain a feeling of superiority, creating enemies and rivals to distance ourselves even further from those "others". we deny the importance of the individual by embracing a membership in the mob.

Great post.

This made me think of the song Imagine. (Lennon's version was good, but I've always liked A Perfect Circles cover)

I guess I don't disagree with the statement that there is a war against muslims. I don't really buy the zionist/new world order conspiracy as the cause of it. IMO, it's because their religion has such a high proportion of fanatic wingnuts. Even when they're not killing innocent people, I have a hard time respecting people so caught up in zealous devotion to magic spirits, and so out of touch with reality. But, that's just me... it's the constant killing of innocents that brings animosity toward islam from the rest of the world. If peaceful muslims are feeling frustrated and victimized, they ought to be pissed about the fanatics, not some conspiracy.

Thanks for fucking up the thread. Is this a piece you are familiar with?

Had you not blown it, I'm sure there would be pages of people agreeing with it and condoning it.

You have to admit, people's reaction would likely be much different when "White Christians" is replaced with Muslims. This could have opened some eyes - thanks for fucking it up.
