Pale plants

Im in week 2 in bloom, plants are looking really pale. Very light green.
My base nutes are SBA & SBB, I get to 600 ppm then add other stuff from there, cal mag, ect. Been feeding 800-900 ppm (RO water). Somethings off though,

Nitrogen? Theyre not yellow, just really pale.

I can get a better pic with lights off tomorrow.

Can't tell with HPS on. Looks healthy the way they are just by the stature of the plant.

What's your ppm and pH? Are you sure your ppm is the right conversion? Don't be gauging it at 0.7 when you actually want 0.5 lol. I did that once and fucked up my whole grow with nute burn lol.

my plants did and continue to do the exact same thing as yours. I don't think it is anything to worry about. Ive heard when they grow quickly the N can't travel fast enough to the top leaves to keep them dark green. I also found that the leaves look a LOT less yellow under regular lights, the HPS just makes it look worse. If it is only happening on the top leaves and they continue to look good otherwise, i wouldn't worry, 8-900ppm should be plenty, but keep the nitrogen up until at least like week 5 of flower.

Here is a pic of a leaf at approx 2 weeks into 12/12.

Same plant 2 weeks away from harvest.

Notice the greeness to the leaves.

Pale plants generally is an under feeding issue.

Great photos.

PPM: 900 on 500 scale
PH: 5.9 (Raised it .1 in bloom)

I did a flush before bloom that probably wasnt neccessary. I was in another gardn today and the plants looked alot healthier. I might be over analyzing it though, comparing photos they do look similar in color outside the room.

WCW Monday Night NITRO! In my experience most strains use a great deal of nitro the first 2-3 weeks of flower. If it was my plant I would top dress my soil with about 2 tablespoons of worm castings

Not bad but still a little pale.

I personally don't have a veg and bloom formula.

NPK 5-4-3 start to finish in coco substrate.

sounds like you may be using coco specific nutes...

Correct.

Higher N lower K.

But a lot of folks think you don't need much N during flowering but that's just not the case.

I've also used a 6-3-8 from start to finish too. But the extra K caused issue with Mg availability and K became toxic so regular flushes were required with 1/4 strength nutes.

no flushes necessary, just good 15-20% run-off my man...

I'm talking about when I used the 6-3-8 in coco substrate. I found that with the coco generating its own K over time that the additional K that I was supplying was getting toxic and causing other nutrients to be locked from uptake.

That's why I needed the extra 1/4 strength flushes, I say flushes but just twice what I'd normally give them.

Believe me I know you don't need to flush. Lol. But at that point in time it was a necessity for me to keep the plants happy.

so you were using coco specific nutes, and you had k issues? shouldn't happen! switch nutes, what you using? i use h&g with zero probs.

No. The 6-3-8 were for a recycling hydro system that I tried out in coco just for shits and giggles.

Veg growth with them was superb but the K tox reared its ugly head during flowering and it was an uphill battle trying to keep it under control.

Thanks for the advice silky but I really don't need any.

really? i've been in coco for over 10 years, and i'm always on the look-out for advice...

I'm now at a point where I'm happy.

I grow to smoke.

The more time I spend researching and playing around with stuff is less time spent with my family.

I average over 400g from my little 400 setup so I'm pretty happy.

I've been coco since I started (5yrs ago) other than a dabble with hydro before fuzz came knocking.

Now I really am KISS guy.

I use
Canna coco A/B
Root stim
Enzyme product
Pk1314
Ca
Mg
And some Si.

My setup consists of a 400w digital ballast, SYLVANIA GROLUX lamp, bat wing reflector, 6" fan, 6" filter, 2ft tube heater, dehumidifier (occasionally), oscillating fan, fan controller.

Plants are healthy start to finish.

I don't flush and I don't over feed.

Its not that I don't take advice I just generally don't break away from what's working for me now as it gives me more than enough bud.

The only thing I am trying is to break 450g mark.
