Put in your nutes first mate has they tend to drop the ph a bit anyway ...Then ph your water....I can only tell you i'm useing canna and they drop my ph when i add them ....keep an eye on your pH as well has it can rise back up again.

Yeah, i usually PH my water to .2-.3 above of where i want it, add nutes then i am bang on. After you add your PH Down it will slowly climb up again so i like to PH my water. let it sit for 2-3 hours check it again, (after you PH down the water for the first time it does not seem to climb again if you need to lower it again so be careful) Also, i like to Dilute my PH Down for abit more accurate control. i go 1 part PH down to 5 parts water i just put it in a spray bottle. I'd suggest labeling it because i had 8 clones that almost kicked it on me because i grabbed the wrong bottle for a foliar spray

If you have very hard water, first add the nutrients to your tap and then lower the pH until it's 5.5-5.8. Record how much pH down it takes to get the pH to 5.8.

Next time you fill your tank, add the recorded amount of pH down to the tap water first and then add the nutes.

If you don't have hard water, it doesn't matter which you add first, but if you do have hard water, adding nutrients directly to tap water can sometimes make it harder for it all to stay dissolved.

I have always added my nutrients first as well, use a lot less PH Down that way it seems (and I never have to use PH Up for anything unless I accidentally use too much PH down) I fill up a 15 gallon reservoir, keep the lid off and let it bubble for several hours sometimes over night to take care of chlorine and anything else then I add my nutrients and if I need to add a little PH down. My water seems to go from 7.x to 6.0-6.2 after I have my usual nutrients in there.
