Hey everyone, new here. Been reading alot
I had a question about over vegging a plant.
I was. Without proper research. Under the impression that plants go from 18-6 during veg and move to 12-12 during flowering
However I let my plant stay in the veg cycle for 7-8 weeks…. Now I have a 3.5- 4foot tall plant that is just barley starting flower for two weeks now.

My grossly misinformed self was thinking that 4 weeks of 12-12 lighting was going to be enough to flower/ripen/harvest

sooo. I learned recently that it takes 8-10 weeks most times. If I’m already two weeks, and I have 2 weeks to go. Would it make sense to add 4 weeks more of my nutrient schedule?
And would anybody be able to give me an idea of how tall this thing might end up? Originally I topped it at the 5th or 6th node, because I was going to scrog setup my plant. Only to find out I set the net way to low(although, had I started my photoperiod on time it might have worked out)
Im legit worried about running out of room to grow this thing anymore.
My friend told me I have 2+ months left for this girl

im super new. This is my first go. I got lucky with a rando seed I found in my garage. It’s shown itself to be female. I can safely say it is an indica strain. And omg. Is this going to be like A huge harvest? I wasn’t expecting more than a qp off the one plant if that.

also here’s some pics. For getting a better idea of what my words are describing

Switch to 12/12, and get ready for 10-12 weeks of flower (at a minimum, plant is done when it is done though). When you flip, follow nute schedule for week one of flower...since you will be in week one of flower. Typically you'll still be giving veg nutes at this time since the first 2/3 weeks after flip is a transitional period. If you can afford a more powerful light, I recommend getting one asap or most of your yield will be fluffy larf bullshit.

Skkkkrrrtttt. Hold up. I’m gonna need more information about the lights thing
My light is a Mars hydro Ts1000. From my understanding it should be fine for one plant.
Can you please explain to me more why it would not be sufficient?

Because the square footage of your room is too big for 1 light. If you put this in a 2x2 tent then it would be adequate. Looks like you have a lot of stretch between the nodes and probably get about 80 -100 grams and have at least 2 months longer

Doesn't have the greatest penetration. It is a decent light for a normal-sized plant, but your plant is rather large and will get bigger. Being your first grow, I would not recommend any form of defoliation incase you run into nute issues and start dropping leaves, so alot of your undergrowth will suffer...So an option would be to spread the plant out, which will allow more light lower into the canopy. However, when doing this, your plant will then have a much wider footprint. A result of this will be reduced yields all around the perimeter as your light cannot spread useable light beyond 2ft across. So if you wanted to get more from this plant, I would suggest a second light along side that one, or a light that throws down a larger footprint for flower.

So what I’m getting
Is I need another light for this plant because its overgrown but had i started photoperiod at 4 weeks it would be fine?

More light will definitely help yield. You're going to wind up filling your screen in a lot to control her height. That will spread her canopy out and your TS1000 doesn't have a big footprint. You could use just it but like @Dank Bongula said, your yields will suffer.
I'd hang something reflective up on that one open side to get the most out of that light too.
The plant's not really overgrown; it's just big limbed....
Big plants yield more; since you only have one plant it's nice to have a big one. If you flipped her to flower at 4 weeks it would probably be a bit early.
The plant is big but the screen will let you even out the canopy and deal with that. Think about another LED but other than that, you look good

what screen? Like a scrog type screen? I know I’m going to need to put the plant in the middle of the area and spread the plant out like everyone is saying

the good news is I had a friend hook me up with the $ to get another ts1000 So that would give me a total of 4x2 footprint right? Now I gotta get another timer switch lol

Yezzer...spread your plant out to match that canopy and you'll get some decent shit
What do you use to cover the walls?
you guys probably just saved me a bunch of trouble lol. Also. Where do you put a fan with that setup? And how many plants can you have going comfortably?

this is what I used and just staples to the wall pretty easily.. but I’m sure flat white paint will work as wellE7D59B16-2002-4C44-A60C-FFFCF9B8C13A.png

Just make sure you are able to maintain room temp in their don’t want it to hot. I had an ac guy come in and run a tee duct and install an ac vent just like you would have in your bathroom to keep it cool and then ran exhaust system out

Interesting. I will probably need to monitor the temp better after the second light comes. Look like it’s abt 2 weeks out. The temp in the closet now stays between 75 at night and 80 during the day

Those lights do not run all that hot, you could hang a fan or two up there with th to help and be fine. You can daisy chain those lights together as well, that will save you a few bucks from not having to go get another timer. The new light should come with the cables and the instructions will show you how to connect. They look like old house phone cables.

oh my god I’ve been telling myself the wrong thing this whole time. I have the ts600. And have a second one of those coming . I just realized it when you mentioned that the ts1000 daisy chain Option. That’s what I wanted to get but it wouldn’t have fit in my closet I don’t think.
