Over population

Hey all,
This has been my first grow and I'm coming into the final 2 weeks; excited! Now its clear my tent became overcrowded but I'm wondering if to an extent it can be a good thing. For instance, this current grow has 6-7 plants, I'm wondering if that would produce more due to a whole extra plant or two or if 4-5 in the same space would produce more due to more room and light per plant? All input would be appreciated as I'm going to jump right into my next once these are done.
Thanks

Those look great. I hope mine fill out that like.

If you want to harvest the same amount from 2 less plants, you would have to veg a little longer, or do some different LST.

Growing Critical Kush :) Topping is cutting the stem when they are in veg so it grows back as 2/4 right ? I had actually been looking into plants that will only fully produce when topped recently, if so.
another question is how do you guys deal with the weight of the buds; maybe i let the plants stretch to much in places recently i check them and find a branch or two have toppled over and with the weight fallen through the canopy of leaves so are getting no light. I have put some string around each plant loosely last time i had them out of the tent but couldn't due so to hold all branches do to vastly varying heights.

I use zip ties to hold the heavy branches to the main stem, they work well and you can adjust easily by cinching them up a little tighter as needed. (A dollar or 2 at harbor freight gets you a bunch of the really long ones). If you dont wanna attach to the main stem, put a wooden dowel or similar into the soil and attach to that. I have strings and zip ties and coat hangers all over the damn tent lol Please keep us in tune with your progress as I am considering this strain after my THC Bomb finishes in about 3 weeks. Good Luck! subbed and +rep for a great looking grow

Thanks and will keep you updated, its been a great strain to start on, seems pretty hardy and a nice yeild! I have a thread over in the indoor grow thread that has followed the flowering process but i get the feeling its better off posting over here in newbie for now, little more helpful so far.

That canopy is under control. More plants are faster than taking the time to train a few plants.

This is what you call crowded, i was lazy:

Could have gotten so much more with a tidy canopy.

That's impressive! :L Less than 2 weeks to go now; i think ill use the next grow to test this question. I like the idea of the topping and training, i enjoy growing as a hobby a lot and grow food too :)
